What to do in Vegas?

My husband and I have decided to go to Vegas for our 1 year anniversary and we are leaving next week! I need some help and advice on restaurants...shows...clubs? We are going to be there M-F and I already know I want to go to the Grand Canyon and see Circus du soleil show...

Can any of you girls give me recommendations on any great restaurants? I don't eat red meat...but he loves it! Really like Asian food too. Guess I want a romantic or trendy atmosphere....

And what clubs are really good? Or places to just go for drinks?

You can go to Tao for dinner. Its great too bc later on at night part of Tao becomes a lounge/club so you can stay there after for drinks and dancing

tryst at the wynn is a real good club, its popular on thursdays

Pure at caesars is also alot of fun to go for drinks and dancing

i dont know if you like criss angel but he has a show in vegas

Bobby flay also has a restaurant at caesars, its called mesa grill

I also ate at this restaurant in the palms called Nove Italiano, the food was delicious. But i didnt like the clubs at the palms, not only that but even if you go to just 1 club in the palms, you pay for access to all of them so you pay alot more and really wasn't worth it.

Mix is alain ducasse's restaurant and its gorgeous. But im sure its real pricey considering in nyc he has one of the most expensive restaurants. But its all white with this insane bubble type chandelier in the middle of the place

We took a helicopter ride to the Grand Canyon. It was beautiful. Also we saw the Cirque show O. That was great.

How much was the helicopter ride? and did they settle you down to the ground so you could hike a bit??

I would love to see O or Ka... Can't decide between the two.

thursdays at tao the nightclub is real good, but Dh also went on a saturday to tao and stayed for the nightclub

oh sorry didnt know his show doesnt start till september. My dh met criss angel at his bachelor party and criss hung out with them at their table and dh told me he has a show going on so i thought it was going on now

Well one club i went to that was strictly house music was empire ball room, its an after hours club and opens at like 3am.

Pure, tryst will have house music too. Voodoo lounge will also play house music and so will body english

The helicopter ride was $500 per person. We landed in the Grand Canyon for about a half hour. They gave us drinks and a snack. It was really a great trip.

O is the one all in the water so I thought it was great. We chose that one because we stayed at the Bellagio.

something you can do in the daytime if youre interested is going to the secret habitat zoo and dolphin exhibit. I didnt do this, but friends who went with their bf's did this during the day, i saw their pics and definitely want to do it when i go with DH.

I think at the zoo they mostly have white tigers, panthers and those sort of animals.

Also not sure if youre into rollercoasters but theres a couple you can go on.

Also not sure what hotel youre staying at but many of them have pool parties in the daytime. I stayed at the palms and friday was when they had th big pool party but it seemed like it was the same all weekend. Except for sunday bc everyone just goes to rehab at hardrock

We are staying at the Luxor... I heard that Mirage has a pool party too... I love roller coasters but the husband doesnt...

If you're deciding between those two Cirques...I'd say O. Kaa is good too, but O is definitely better.

If you're deciding between those two Cirques...I'd say O. Kaa is good too, but O is definitely better.

KA was TERRIBLE.. Don't waste your money on it.. DH wanted to walk out like 10 minutes into it.. See my previous post for a Cirque suggestion!!!

Ok I lived I Vegas for awhile so here are my tips!! I agree with others about KA, don't waste your time! I have seen almost all the cirque shows and that was the least entertaining! O is the best and loved mystere (saw it twice...and u can always get 2 for 1's pretty easy)

For pool parties - ditch fridays or rehab...but they r a bit much...not sure if u r into that scene.

Tryst is the best club. And if you go to the Wynn go around 7 and get a drink at Parasol Down...they have an outdoor patio and really funky trippy shows every 30 min. And Tao is ok pretty fun. Pure -ehh...hate the bouncers and its such a scene to get in there. Also been hearing people talk about Blue Martini but not sure where it is!!! Hard rock a funnn casino in general so def check it out!

For off strip I recommend hiking at Red Rock or a day trip to Lake Las Vegas - its gorgeous there!

For restaurants - there r so many good ones. I love the Fix in Bellagio but it gets a bit loud sometimes. Love the crepe place in the Paris for dessert. Umm not sure bc there r so many good ones. I did hear social house was good.

Ok I will try to think of more!

If you want to go to shows you must see O, La Reve and Mystere. Zumanity was okay...I think because I was so tired I wasn't feeling it so much, but that is definitely an erotic show.

The Mixx at The Hotel at Mandalay Bay is good. It's an awesome view.

Tao was okay. If it's just you and DH it might not be worth it because you can't sit anywhere unless you buy a bottle for a table.

Just wanted to thank you all for your help. We had a fabulous time in Las Vegas! I can't wait to go again because there is soooo much to do!

We saw Blueman Group which was a lot of fun!
We ended up seeing KA. and you were all right! But DH wanted to see it sooooo we did.
We went to the Shark Reef and Wax Museum.
We took a gondola ride in the Venetian and we had the boat all to ourselves. The man was singing for us non stop. It was cute...

Went to the pool everyday and walked up and down the whole friggen strip, checked out every single hotel/casino. We went for dinner at a few places. Played a couple of slots, Black Jack and Roulette.

Nobu was my favorite!
We didn't go out partying too much, we ended up falling asleep by 11 every night except for the night we went to Tryst.
We stayed in the Luxor and we were suppose to go to LAX, the club in the Luxor, but we went to our room to get somtin and we just passed out. lol.

Anyways, lots of fun! Just upset I didn't get to go to the Grand Canyon but there will be a next time.

I was just in Vegas last weekend...

We saw Zumanity by Cirque du Soleil - i liked it a lot. It is definitely a little racier than the others, but there is also a comedy element which I liked.

Tao is good (I didn't go in Vegas, but have been in NY a bunch of times). We had dinner at Sensi in the Bellagio and it was excellent! I highly recommend it!!!

As for clubs, we went to Body English, Ghostbar and Rain.. all were fun. We also checked out a few smaller places like caramel in the Belagio which were more loungy.
