What Was He Thinking??
Sorry .. just needed to vent my anger over a stupid man driving a burgundy Saturn sedan along the Northern State Parkway Tuesday evening .. the idiot had a little girl riding in the back seat .. and she was not buckled in!!How do I know this??
Because she was clearly kneeling on the seat facing the wrong way, pretty much facing the rear window of the car.
Now, I've always been sensitive to this kind of stuff .. sorry, but you have a kid .. you strap them in .. BUT .. I just recently got through with a Defensive Driving Course .. and got to hear all the wonderful stories about people ejected from cars because they were not buckled in .. and this just really angers me ... a parent or adult supervisor should be responsible enough to make the child put a seat belt on. And yes, kids know how to take the belts off, and this girl looked old enough that she could be at that stage .. HOWEVER .. the man kept driving along, mile after mile .. so there didn't appear to be any concern from him over the situation.
What the heck is wrong with people?? All it takes is one wrong move from anyone, and that little girl could be in big trouble because of that dope operating the car she was riding in.
Sorry .. just had to get that out of my system!

I hear ya - it angers me too!! I took a defensive driving course and I highly recommend it to anyone who hasn't. Not only can you save on insurance, it teaches you alot. It's better to be defensive.

You think when you have kids you slow down since they are in the car and then there are idiots out there not even buckling a child in! UGH!

I see this a lot too. It scares the he$$ out of me. I have actually called the police on the cell phone. I don't know if they ever got anyone, but it's worth a try if it may save a childs life!

Re: What Was He Thinking??
I hate jerks like that! The other day I saw a guy in his pickup truck, and he had a little boy with him that couldn't have been much more than 3 years old. The kids face was practically pushed up against the back of the window. Obviously he wasn't in a car seat! 3 year olds aren't even supposed to BE in the front seat, much less in the front seat of a pickup with their face against the glass!!!!
Some people have their heads up their a$$es.

Re: What Was He Thinking??
Oh .. and here's the kicker .. can't believe I forgot to mention this .. but it was late when I originally posted ..the stupid man made sure to buckle himself in .. he WAS wearing his seatbelt!!
And yes, I did think about calling the police .. but didn't. I guess maybe I was wrong.
As for Defensive Driving .. I agree .. I totally recommend it for anyone who has not taken it. I've done it a bunch of times already, and even took Driver's Ed in high school .. both programs have been worth it.
