Ours was the Custom Aisle Runner, I designed it about three months before our wedding, then had someone make it for us. It was something I really wanted to add. Now we couldnt imagine not having it, everyone just though it was so pretty and personal and most of all 'Us' which made us feel great!!. We also had King Brass Trumpeters play which gave it that fairytale kind of feeling, they were so wonderful that day. We also had the Magical Butterfly Release, where as all of the bridal party along with the bride and groom did the release in sync and wow, thats all everyone including Russell & I could say is just WOW.... P.S. -A note to a few of the LI wedding girls who were so against it, saying it was cruel, you are giving them there life, they are raised on a butterfly farm and hand fed, then shipped, they arrived alive, and so beautiful, I must say as I did before it looked magical and every butterly took flight, some where a bit lazy as we kept them cooler longer as the instructions stated, so they hang around, they landed on my father in law's head and nephews head, it was really funny. So glad I went with them.......

gorgeous runner!
for me it was the string trio--we only added it about 3 wks before the big day cause we could afford it finally. originally we were going to just have the DJ play pre-recorded music. but after hearing the trio, i realize what a difference it made...it sounded amazing and i'm glad we splurged.

The violinist! We werent supposed to have one until about a month before the wedding our organist told me she knew of a guy who could do it for cheap. It just made the music sound soooo much more beautiful.

I can't single out one particular thing because everything was so meaningful to us! I planned the Mass to the nth degree...every little detail was just how I wanted it.... We were lucky because we were able to make it so personal. The priest was a close friend, the musicians were friends, the altar serveres were friends' children, the bagpiper was a close friend, etc. Everyone commented on how beautiful and personal our Mass was and that was just what i was aiming for!
But if I had to pick one thing, it would be the musicians at my Mass. They were all friends of mine which made it all the more special. I had an organist, 2 flute players and an octet (choir with 8 voices that sung in 4 parts) And each and every piece of music that was played and sung meant something to me spiritually and emotionally. I loved it all!

The string trio and the birch tree and orchid arch at the 'altar'. The music sounded incredible and I love how the flowers look in the few pictures I have so far.

Definitely the music..
The BP walked down to 'In My Life' by the Beatles I walked down to 'To Make you Feel my Love' by Billy Joel and the recessional song was 'Music Box Dancer'.. a song I used to dance around the house to as a little girl.
The songs were so personal to me, and so out of the box that I got alot of compliments on them.

My mom and aunts grew up with the priest that said our mass. About 4 years ago I went abroad to work at one of the summer camp programs he runs. One day we were driving around and he promised me that when I got married he would say the mass. I was so happy he was able to do it and the mass was filled with personal touches.

There were a couple of things...my custom aisle runner-my mom made for us and the memory candle my MOH made...the only thing she did really.
Also-all the guests that showed up, we really didnt expect alot of people to be there since it was friday afternoon. We were really shocked at how many people showed up

The chuppah. I'm not Jewish, so it's not something I planned on initially, but when my husband asked for a Jewish ceremony, I said, 'Ok, then, we'll have to have a chuppah.' My husband said, 'what's that?' Anyway, I didn't know what to use. A lot of brides have their florist make one, but I did my own flowers, and we were being married under Timber Point's pergola arch anyway. I asked, but there didn't seem to be an existing prayer shawl in his family, which many people use for a 'portable' chuppah. I remembered hearing that some online friends of mine had used a tablecloth for theirs, so I asked about it and it seemed like a good idea. My sister suggested I ask a professional embroiderer that she knew of to decorate it in Arts and Crafts style. He was thrilled with the idea! When we got it, my sister very kindly sewed on some ribbons so we could attach it to poles. Speaking of which, we didn't know where to get poles, we couldn't find any very long dowels. So we bought plastic tubing that my sister drilled a hole in, painted with plastic paint, and then attached. It turned out great! And cost me less than $100. So we had a great, personal chuppah, and now we have a lovely special occasion tablecloth that's really special to us.
Unfortunately, most of the good pictures of it aren't on my computer yet!

I was so glad we had the Quartet play at the Ceremony. It was very elegant.
actually, it was the second thing that I picked while planning the Wedding. First was the Hall.

Our daughter....
Our families are a little old fashioned & they were already annoyed that we weren't married when she was born. But we were not going to be embarrassed by our child, ya know? So we decided 'screw 'em!' and we made her the Maid of Honor

I'm so happy we had three things at our ceremony: the trumpeteers from Royal Brass, our programs and our officiant who we've known for years...he made the ceremony feel really special.
