I saw Grease last week...I wasn't too impressed. It was cute- but for the first time EVER I can say I liked the movie so much better.
They totally rushed the ending (they were going so fast Sandy tripped while trying to speed dance across the stage!!).
I would compare it to a great High School production...definitely not a true Broadway show- all in all it was Cute- but I wouldn't pay to see it again

PS- I'm dying to see Grey Gardens, Curtains and The Drowsy Chaperone...also, Claire Danes is starring in Pygmalion if you want to go to a dramatic play (not a musical)

Grey Gardens closed a few months ago..It was fantastic! Sorry you missed it
I think the last thing I saw was Spring Awakening. Didn't like it. I also saw the Matthew Bourne Edward Scissorhands ballet at BAM. It was wonderful

I did. It was very cute. I don't really go to see Broadway plays. I have seen some real gems though-A Chorus Line (during its original run in the 80s-I was only about 12), Phantom, Bombay dreams which closed very early-I liked it though and Death of a Salesman when I was in college. I love Brian Dennehey.

The last play I saw was Wicked. I have seen it twice.
It is my Fav. Show so far. I haven't seen many.
I saw Cats right before it ended. I also saw Phatom of the Opera last year. We had first row. It was Amazing.

Well, the most recent two have sinced closed so i can't recommend those , obviously...
But you MUST see The Drowsy Chaperone. It is the funniest, most orignal and most witty show I've seen in a long time... It is a musical comedy.
As someone that sings and has experience in theatre, I am so sick of all the revivals and all the 'the music of. . . . ' shows. it's like no one can come up with something original and NEW.... that's not based on a book or a movie or someone's music. The Drowsy Chaperone is original, funny, etc. etc. I LOVED IT!

I have to agree..Saw Drowsy..right after it opened and it was funny as hell! A really wonderful show and it's a short one too! less then 2 hours with no intermisson!
