What was your wedding song?

We had about 10 differant songs picked it changed daily. Some people were keeping theirs as a surprise. So in the end what was your song?

'I could not ask for more': Edwin McCain

Same here! It came out the year we started dating, so it's kind of always been 'our:' song. We moved to St. Louis after the honeymoon and the week moved there Edwin McCain was playing a free concert in front of the arch. Of course he played it and dedicated it to all the brides and grooms who have used it for their wedding songs. It was awesome to get to hear him sing it in person so soon after our wedding.

'When you say nothing at all' was also in the running. It ended up on our wedding cd favor.

You mean the first dance song? Because other than that, we didn't have a 'wedding song.' Well, the two songs that were special to us were 'Beautiful Day' by U2, which was played for our recessional. And our first dance song was 'Love is in the Air' the ballroom version by John Paul Young, from the movie Strictly Ballroom. That movie was special to us because on one of my husband's first visits to my old apartment, he picked up my DVD of the movie and we discussed how we both loved that movie and hated Luhrmann's later films. It made both of us realize that we had a lot in common. So when I was trying to think of a first dance song, and failing miserably, I thought of that one--at the end of the movie, the couple acknowledges that they're in love, their parents accept them, it all ends happily, and everyone goes out onto the dance floor and dances to that song. It's all very happy. So we chose that song. It has nice lyrics, too. And during our first dance, we had a great time, and then everyone joined us and it was a lot like the movie!

'Truly Madly Deeply' Savage Garden.
It had special meaning for us. I am in love with Darren Hayes, and DH used to hear the song all the time at work and hated it. Once he found out how much I loved him every time the song came on he would think of me, and started to look forward to hearing it.
It was even his idea to use it.

'The More I See You'--the Nat King Cole version...

DH was researching songs loved the lyrics, and he let me choose which version to use (there were at least six that he found, but we both liked this one best).
