What where the little things that went wrong??

I dropped the lit taper on the altar during the lighting of the unity candle and DH stepped on my dress and ripped my bustle out. Some people may not find this funny but we had a catholic mass and we indicated explicitly that my MOH was NOT catholic and should not be offered communion, well the priest gave communion to DH and I, walked over to our BM and then to my MOH. She freaked out and took it!! She cupped her hands and did the sign of the cross and everything because she saw us do it. I thought she would have kept it in her hand, nope in her mouth it went! She leans over to me and whispers that it's stuck to the roof of her mouth and I just lost it, I couldn't stop laughing all through communion. My father sees this happen and is mouthing the word 'sinner' to her from the first row I kept thinking that DH and I were going straight to hell for that.

Other than that our day was perfect!

It always makes me laugh when I tell it.

hmmm, let's see....
1. My grandpa's leg got twisted and he practically fell out of the limo (he was the one walking me down the aisle by the way) thank god the limo driver caught him and all was okay!

2. I showed up early to the church and DH was outside! Thank god he didnt see me though!

3. I forgot the ring bearer pillow at home so my ring bearer walked down with nothing in his hands! Poor kid! Noone noticed though cause he's so darn cute!

4. My dress was FILTHY from walking around Old Westbury Gardens.

5. My cocktail hour was OUTSIDE when I specifically requested it inside,... but turned out for the best cause it was beautiful outside!!

6. My cake wasnt exactly how I had wanted it to be decorated... oh well.

Other than that, the day was awesome! LOLOL.... it could have been ALOT worse!

Lets see.

-my cell phone ended up on the roof od my MOH car and then on the side of the road where a man picked it up and brought it with him to Hampton Bays which is 45 minutes away.

-my limos wanted to leave after the ceremony

-my cake was NOT at all what i ordered.

-the ac at the church was broken and it was 97 degrees out.

-my cake started to melt.

- I ended up getting sick half way through the reception. (spend 45 minutes in bridal suit.)

-we got left at the hall with NO limo. I had to stuff my big a$$ dress into the front of our friends jeep.

Otherwise it was a blast.

my worst fear is my flowers showing up all wrong, and these posts make me even more nervous

Seems like a big deal now that you are planning but I really could care less the day of. Just research your vendor and the type of flowers as best you can.

-I forgot to bring the ring pillow I made to the church.

-The zipper on my sisters (MOH) dress, fell completely off when she put it on and my mother had to sew her into it.

-A few of my pictures were taken before someone reminded me my crinoline was still hanging from the curtain rod.

-I requested a dance floor be laid on top of the slate floor at our reception site and it wasn't.

-and for the grand finale....My Mother fell and shattered her shoulder during 'our dance'.

Still, and I sometimes feel guilty saying this because of my Mom, but nothing could have ruined my day! It was incredible!!

My ring bearer didn't try on his tux before he brought it home and it was 3 sizes too big!

My MOH's top to her dress was way too small and she was busting out of her top so much that she ended up wearing a sweatshirt for the rest of the night. (At least the color matched the dress!)

My florist didn't show up as promised and sent 2 people I never met to drop off flowers. They had no idea what went where, so I had to go through all the flowers explaining what went to the church and what I needed. Then I had to go online to give them directions to the church!

One of my guests got SO drunk that she threw up in my bridal suite, in the ladies bathroom and on my sister who was the MOH!

The shuttle driver almost started a war with the best man because he insisted that we never paid for the shuttle. The BM had the confirmation numbers with him, but the driver wouldn't believe him.

The town car was late picking us up after the reception, so we were the last two people to leave the hall.

Other than that, I had the greatest time!

Our wedding was the day of the tanker truck accident on Sunrise highway so a few of our vendors were late

My flowers showed up a half hour late

Photographer showed up over an hour late (she came to Suffolk County from Chelsea in Manhattan- 3and 1/2 hrs) because of accident so we didn't get pics of me getting ready and into dress and our photos were a little rushed but came out gorgeous anyway. Still wish I'd gotten those pics though.

Florist put fresh flowers on our cake (with best intentions)-flowers were beautiful though-just didn't want them on cake so you never can be too specific.

My husband went to dip me and kiss me after the cake cutting and dropped me! This actually turned out to be the funniest thing ever though. I hit the floor laughing and we will laugh about it forever!

All in all a beautiful day. Just remember that no matter what goes wrong, it will be the only chance for you to enjoy it so enjoy every minute!

- my photographer, huge mistake

-photographer missed a lot of the pictures i asked for

- dj dragged dinner out about twice as long as it should be, he also started the whole night out with about 4 slow songs,which I think kind of killed the dancing mood.

- my sister left a bunch of the kids favors at home
