I think it's exit 57 or 58 off the LIE. DH loves the wings at Hooters. he says they are even better when they still have the feathers on them

eww, I used to love Hooters wings.

But now I Croxleys wings more, so we don't go to Hooters haha

We LOOOOOOOVE croxley's. we were just there last night. We go every wednesday, you should come next time :)

Mmmm, maybe I will! I also enjoy trying a new beer everytime I go LOL Shoot me and FM next week and let me know what time you chicas are heading over!

something controversial

Ooo! i agree! can we think of a controversial topic that has never been (or is rarely) touched apon on LIW? (is it even possible?????!!?!?!?!!!)

Hummm how about divorce? I think the rate is about 50% of marriages end in divorce what do we think are the causes?

midgets ? not sure why they popped up in my head.

ummmm thinking of more things that havent been touched.

Because people don't think marriage is really work. They think if things don't work out, we'll just divorce. When I said my vows and I told my hubby i'd be there through the good times and the bad, i meant it. Not everyone means that when they say it.

And yes, midgets are 25% of that 50%

I agree with what you said. Sometimes it just seems like people dont want to work through the hard times and expect marriages to be a fairy tale. I am sure not even a year being married we have seen how difficult it could be but this is something that you work on not leave.
Hearing about Divorces makes me sad. Even if I dont know the person.

DH and I disagree all the time -- that doesn't mean we don't have a good marriage, or that we are unhappy. We both listen to each others POV (even if we don't agree) and we RESPECT each other. I'd never call DH an @sshole, or a DB. and i expect the same from him

Do you think ppl are so used to divorce that it becomes an easy out?

Growing up...out of all my close friends, my parents were the only ones still together!

And there has never been a divorce in my family- either side.

I just think it's nuts the ppl get divorces so easily. One of Dh's friends is 35 and already divorced twice!

ITA with both of you!!!

darn midgets!!!!

I wanted to hire a midget to come out from under my dress at my wedding during the garter removal - after seeing it on youtube - but DH thought it would take away from the 'classiness' of the wedding. I even found a website - rentamidget.com or something LOL

i think that in some cases, ppl get married wayy too fast and young... or they get married just b/c they are having a baby together... which, mind you, in SOME of these cases, it can work out, but i think this adds to the divorce rate as well

Out of about 10 couples that I know that got married withing the last 5 years I want say say 4 or 5 are divorced.
My parents have been married 35 years and people are shocked by that. In my family
(like yours) that's normal.

ITA - I think some people in general take marriage much more lightly - just because divorce is something that is so much more common nowadays. . they see it as an easy way out and more socially acceptable!

Something that drives me nuts?

Divorce Parties - why would you want to celebrate something like that?!?! It baffles me, to be honest.

They are becoming so much more popular nowadays.
So do I bring a gift or just eat the food you paid for with your ex's money???

Exactly - I was reading an article in the newsday like last week about how these event planners who do bachelor and bachelorette parties are now doing divorce parties too! They had a section for 'Tips for planning a successful Divorce Party' and I thought it was ridiculous.

I mean - I understand if people want to get out there and move on after a divorce - but making it the main focus of your night in the form of a celebration? I don't know.
