Just went food shopping at King Kullen. Got out to my car and I realized I forgot to pay for my cold cuts and veggies (they were under my bag). I felt so bad I went back in and paid for them. What would u have done?

The same thing.....I would've felt too guilty taking them home without paying.

The same thing you did! I too would feel horrible if I left a store without paying for it..It would eat at my conscience every day for weeks..I could not live with myself

I probably would have left. Im usually a really good samaritan, I return wallets with everything in them, give back money if cashiers give me the wrong change, etc. But you didnt mean to do it and its not like the place would go out of business. But thats really nice of you to go back in and pay.

I have to admit, I probably wouldn't have gone back in. If it's an honest mistake I don't think it's that big of a deal. If it were something more expensive I might have gone back in... is that bad??

It was really nice of you to go back, but I know that I wouldn't have. I guess it sounds bad, but since it was a mistake I wouldn't feel like it's stealing or anything.

I would have gone back also. I am superstitious and I would feel like something bad would happen to me if i didn't go back in

I would feel guilty, but I would get over it and consider it an accident. It happens, don't fret to much. We all make mistakes

If there were no lines (or not too long I would have gone back). If the lines were long I would have left. Felt bad but I always get overcharged in supermarkets so I would have looked at it as my little free gift.

Re: What would u have done......
I'd feel bad, but I wouldn't have gone back I have been over charged or screwed out of something one to many times to go back. I can't count how many times I left a bag of groceries in the store, went back and the cashier doesn't have them. Plus it's not like you really stole it, it was an accident. I've done that once before and I felt bad about it, but then I thought about how many times they messed with me and I got over it.

Dh follow this thinking - If i just left the register then I would pay for it but if i was at my car at home I say this is the universe just paying back what was taken. I always get ripped off on prices and never argue.

ITA. If I was already home then I wouldn't go back.

Same here! I have done the same thing with water, or coke 12 packs ... and I never go back I feel like hey, i won a small lottery here, free soda! Finally, I catch a break.

there was a big debate about this on LIF. I would have went back in also. If it was an item that was a few dollars I probably wouldn't have bothered but it sounds like the items you walked out with were a little more expensive

me too I would consider it as a gift because it is not stealing when it happened while you were unaware
