what would you do?

what would you do?

DH became friends with a bunch of guys of his best friend. Well, one of the guys came to our wedding in NY and our second reception in California and didn't give a gift. He told us last year he was getting married. he told us the date, location and told us we were invited. He is now getting married this Saturday and we haven't received an invitation. Well, he called last thursday and said he wanted to drop off our invitation personally. DH texted him back and said to drop it off at his best friends house.

what would you do?

would you go to the wedding this saturday?
would you give a gift?

DH and his best friend feels like after this guy gets married they probably won't ever see him anyways.

It doesn't seem as if you guys are close with him. I'd just skip the wedding

I would skip it,, it seems very last minute and more like the C list instead of even the B.

Kkip the wedding and skip the gift.
You've made other plans for the day.

This just screams afterthought.

I wouldnt go to the wedding. It's too last minute and I would not get him a gift either.

DH isn't great friends with the guy. He is just one of the guys he used to play basketball with on the weekends. I really don't want to go because we got a invitation a week before. he probably didn't make his minimum. DH wants to go to eat his food, drink his booze and cake and not give a gift. DH already told him 'oh see you next week'. I say we just don't show up.

I would go and NOT give a gift. Make them pay for you to go enjoy yourself, eat, drink, dance!! It's what they did to you so why not.

I think that if the guy hadn't told u about the wedding a year ago and just came to you this week and said that he had a cancellation and knows u r not close, but he'd like to see u go------that would be one thing and I may go.

BUT

for him to say now that he's going to drop off the invite..........TNT (thanks, but no thanks).
