I would still wear a cocktail dress.

my wedding started at that time (actually, ceremony was at 11, CH was 11:30am) ... many people came dressed 'business casual' but i was a bit annoyed with that. it's still a wedding and i think people should come dressed the same as if it's a night-time wedding (a dress of sorts for woman, and suit with tie for the guys).

ps: if i sound a bit bitter, it's because i am ... sorry if i sound mean / rude / wahtever

I just went to an afternoon wedding this weekend. I wore a cute pink strapless cocktail dress.

people wore all sorts of things to my afternoon wedding. most girls wore cocktail dresses, but some wore cotton dresses (some even w/ leggings) instead. i thought everyone looked appropriate!

I would still dress fancy but I would allow myself to wear something with lighter colors (pale pinks, blue, etc) than I would to a night wedding. I would potentially wear dark colors too or something that I would wear to a night wedding but I would just give myself a bit more flexibility at a day wedding.

Same here. IMO I don't feel that afternoon weddings are more casual and it can be hurtful to the bride to treat them as if they are. (just my opinion though)

Our wedding started at 11:30 am but it was in the summer and I asked everyone to wear sun dresses (which they did).

I guess October isn't too different. Maybe a longer sort of dress? I guess a suit would work as well. Anything you'd usually wear to an evening wedding except not quite as fancy... I wouldn't do a gown... or anything sparkly. Unless it's white of course. Then go as glam as possible.

my wedding was same time but in august and all my guests were clones of one another... all wore black and white dresses... i was like ya gotta be kiddin me... its a daytime wedding in the middle of summer... no color in my pics whatsoever LOL

Either a cocktail dress or a formal skirt and top. I dress the same regardless of whether it is a day affair or a night affair.
