whats for dinner tonight ladies?????

anything good? looking for some new ideas

i am attempting to make my first lasagna like my mom makes. to me this is a huge undertaking because hers are so good. so what you do is
-brown some ground meat, onions and garlic
-add 1-2 cans (i used one) redpack tomato sauce or puree and a half can of water and let simmer/bubble on medium heat
-while doing that, bring 6 qts of water to a boil. make sure to add salt and some olive oil to the water
-cut up one package of mozzerella cheese into little squares
-when rapidly boiling, add 1 package lasagna noodles and let boil for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally
- once noodles are ready, strain and douse with cold water so u can touch them easily
-take a ladle and pour a few spoonfulls of the meatsauce on the bottom of the lasagna pan (i am using an all-clad one).
-then lay out 4 noodles (give or take depending on the size of yr pan).
-ladle more meat sauce on the noodles, then evenly place globs of ricotta cheese evenly over the whole pan...not too many tho.
-then sprinkle a few mozzerella cubes over everything
-repeat the layering process.
the only thing i dont know is how long and at what temp to cook it. my mom isnt around to tell me. so i am assuming somewhere around 450 until the top gets a bit melty/crispy ish looking. when i find out the time/temp i will post.

leftovers.... last night, I baked lambshanks... they were simply baked at 400 degrees with allspice, cinnamon, tumeric, salt, and lots of onion and garlic for about 2 hours.... we ate it with a persian rice dish (basmati rice first boiled, and then dry cooked with butter, saffron, allspice, cinnamon, and layered with a pre-fried mix of raisins, onions, chopped dates, and orange zest)

tummy pain = pizza that DH is bringing home after work

We're eating out--it's Friday and we usually go out to eat

We're eating out today. Since we're leaving soon, we figured we'd take this Friday to go up to Yale and say goodbye to all our friends there -- so we'll be eating Pizza at Yorkside (our fav pizza place in New Haven) and then hang out like old times for one last time

we;re guests tonight at a friends house....they're doing all the cooking. We just have to bring some wine. So......tonight I'm not cooking a thing

friday night is always take out night at villa maria!
but tmrw im making lemon chicken with salad a green beans...yummmmm

Were going to Friday's! We havent been there in a while, and we havent been able to have a quiet dinner since were married.
