Whats Scares the #$%& out of you?

LOL im a scaredy cat. Who else is?

What are your top 3 fears?

1. My number one has to be becoming a mom.

I want kids and love them, but my own mom as much as I love her, was and is a screwball. A good person at heart but she often channels the whole “NO WIRE HANGERS!” deal. –chuckles- And we have a lot of genetic issues in my family like mental illness, cancer (moms side) and alcoholism (dad’s side) so I worry about that. I myself suffer from anxiety and was on meds a long time ago though now I’ve been off for several years.

I worry about post-partum depression ad my docs do too because of the increase in hormones and my mental history and all of that. I want to be a good parent and yes we all screw up from time to time, but I hesitate to have kids KNOWING full well I have a higher likelihood of screwing up…would rather not have them at all and Dh feels the same way because he wants to be a good dad if we have kids. So that’s my biggest fear…I never want to make my kids feel the way I did growing up and I know that that alone should make it less likely to happen, but I also know myself…. So we’ll see how it goes.

2. MICE!!!!
OMG SOOOOOOOOO afraid of them because they’re squishy and mushy and slide under things OMG!!!!! LMAO I remember once at my old job I opened the door and a mouse ran in like the sucker was WAITING for me to open the door. I ran out and then had to explain to a bunch of laughing maintenance guys why I “let the mouse into the house” so they could go catch it.

3. Ghosts/Demons…

Anything NOT alive thank you very much that should STAY that way!!! I’ll admit it…super fraidy cat. I am a writer so I can scare THE HELL out of myself lmao. I do it all the time-work myself up so bad I can FEEL the creepies. I don’t like any movies with scary things, especially monsters that get you in your dreams like Freddy or through mirrors…repetitive songs and crap like that lmao in those movies KILLS me because it gets stuck in your head and you’re like OMG he’s going to get me now!!!!I

I also DESPISE movies with demons of creepy kids like “The Possession” or “Children of the Corn” and The “Devil’s Advocate”-that last one scared me for WEEKS because of the whole. Seeing how easy it is to be led astray and sin, themes. I was even being nice to the crabby women in Admissions lmao. Like “bless you!” instead of the other choice word that was more appropriate for her crabby @ss.

I'm scared of mice...can't stand them....
and I'm scared of having a baby again...
it has been 13 years....my husband doesn't have children.....and I only have my son...and I would love to have another child..but pregnancy is looking pretty scary...LoL..

My top 3 fears:
1) I am afraid of not being able to have children. DH & I really want to have at least one child and because of my age I am afraid of not being able to concieve.

2) I am afraid of spiders. They really creep me out for some reason.

3) I afraid of thunder & lightning. Lightning freaks me out, I have to run around the house and close all of the shades so I can't see it.

1) My biggest fear is not being able to have children. DH & I are in our late 30's and we've already been trying for a year.

2) I am deathly afraid of clowns-they are the creepiest thing in the world to me. Evil incarnate!!

3) I cannot handle large crowds of people-start getting anxiety attacks.

1) being attacked
2) being alone for long periods of time...my mind starts to wander to the weirdest places and i tend to get anxious
3) physical suffering from illness
4) oh, and heights/rollercoasters

Being in my house alone...I start to hear things and it drives me crazy..Oh the mind is a crazy thing!

SPIDERS....I got bitten once and was on antibiotics, so they creep me out

My husband hiding on me and scaring me....He gets me every time and every time I have a heart attack

#1: You are all going to think I am a psycho, but I have this huge fear of DH dying!! I get to the point that sometimes, when he goes out with his friends to a bar and will be driving home late or sometimes when I see him off to work [esp. when he is going to ride a motorcycle that particular day- he's a highway cop] I start to freak out and cry!! I am really a nutcase! We went thru A LOT to be together and to be where we are today and I have such a fear of losing him... It's really intense. I even went so far as to getting a video for our wedding so that I could see it everyday if something were to happen to him! I need therapy sooo bad!

#2: That I will be a horrible mother. If all goes well and DH and I get pregnant, I am worried that I will be a too-strict and overbearing mom. I tend to be a little ridiculous with the following rules thing with my step-sweeties...maybe that's from being in law enforcement. I just hope when/if I have my own, I can learn to relax and not want to kick his/her butt for spilling something all over the floor!

#3: Like an OP, I have some questionable genetic material running in my family. Both my Mom and Dad's side have breast cancer and other cancers running rampant, and my aunt had two severely retarded children. I am worried that something will be wrong physically/mentally with a child that I bring into this world...

I share fears with some on here, but these are my top 3.

1. I have a huge fear of DOGS and most other animals. I have always been scared, and everyone who has a dog will say 'my dog doesn't do anything'. It doesn't matter to me whether the dog is a mushball or a huge monster, I am scared. They look like aliens to me.

2. HEIGHTS grew on me. I get very dizzy and I feel like I am going to fall. If I have something to hold on to, I am okay. I would never be able to bungee jump or skydive.

3. The weirdest one is AIRPLANES. I think it's the whole 9/11 thing, but I have a fear of crashing, hijacking, burning, whatever it is. As soon as there is turbulence, I am shaking. On my honeymoon to Hawaii, I squeezed my husband's arms so tight, I left a mark on it.

Aww honey I understand ALL of these and the first two especially. You're not nuts! My Dh is a driver for a car carrier company and he's gone for 3-6 days at a clip. HARD on our marriage and Im always afraid when i hear of accidents that it was him. Because people drive like @$$es...I always said I couldn't marry a police officer or forefighter but a truck driver ironically is almost as bad!

You're not nuts and Im sure you'll be a great mom-we're just extra hard on ourselves some times.

OOO HEIGHTS! I love to fly yet terrified of heights. I cant get near the windows in my office building or I get dizzy. Malls kills me-you know on the second floor where they have like those glass walls for you to lean over and look down at the next level? I get dizzy and makes me nuts when kids play by them.

I am scared of:

#1 being a mom (afraid I will be too protective ~ pain in the butt)

#2 afraid of not being able to a mom (something is wrong with me)

#3 and then if I do get pregnant I am freakin scared of deliverying the little munchkin...

#4 Like Twinkletoes I have come a long way in the last few years and I am afraid of losing my DH... like if he goes out with his friends and getting into a car accident or something like that! and it drives me nuts when DH does not check in...

Top 3 FEARS

1. I have to agree with some of you about being a mom. I tend to be a worry wart, and I don't want to be too overbearing and overprotective!! I'm also terrified a having a child with some disability, especially autism. After teaching two children with autism last year, it really intensified the fear for me!

2. Being raped or attacted in someway!! When I was a child, I had a HUGE fear of being kidnapped!! I used to cry when I had to take the early morning bus for chorus, because it was around the corner and my Mom couldn't watch me from the window! As I've gotten older that fear has transformed somewhat into me being raped

3. SPIDERS!!!!! I've always been petrified of spiders!!! My worst nightmare came true almost 3 years ago when I went to South Africa with a bunch of guys who I thought were some of my best friends, but turned out to be the biggest @ssholes imaginable!! Anywho, their treehouse shack of a house was infested with spiders!! Spider webs hanging from their beds, the kitchen table, the ceiling, everywhere!! And the spiders there are on steriods!!! After one night in their compound area in the woods and waking up with spiders in my bed, and one the size of a tarantula on the ceiling above me I ended up staying in a hotel by myself!!

I HATE HATE HATE spiders, seeing them freaks me out and gives me the heeby jeebies That is really the only thing.

And of course the things that go bump in the night sometimes freak me out

I don't think you're psycho at all. I actually think its a very common fear/anxiety to fear bad things will happen to those you love. I have had the same thoughts about DH, I just try not to let myself become preoccupied with it, which is harder at times when I'm feeling anxious. But for me, what helps is me learning to hand over those types of worries to God because they are truly out of our control!!!!!!!!

OMG Patty, those are my biggest fears!

1. I'm afraid b/c of my PCOS that I am have a hard time conceiving

2. I am PETRIFIED of spiders, DH makes fun of me!! LOL

3. I won't leave the house in thunderstorms! LOL

1-Thunder and Lightning

2-Heart Palpitations

3-Dying before I see my children married

Oh and by the way.....My son and I play with spiders.When you become a mom to a boy....You'll get it.

1. Crazy people. Have you seen the news? Forget about ghosts being in my basement I get nervous it's that nice but kind of weird guy from up the block. America's Most Wanted does not ease this fear.

2. Cats. The thought of a cat rubbing against my leg freaks me out.

3. Drunk drivers. Anytime I drive late at night, especially on a Friday or Saturday. I drive like an old lady and am overly cautious. I always check before driving through intersections and drive slower than I usually would. If I'm driving I won't even have 1 drink so it would be just my luck that a drunk driver and I would meet head on.
