whats the deal with DVR?? updated

so i just got it and have been fiddling around with it. i programmed it to tape the entire series of I Love Lucy and then i wanted to tape the johnny depp episode of true hollywood story but it said i couldnt bc its on at the same time as Lucy. whats up with that?? i thought u could tape two things at once?!?! also, why the hell is the food network an 'unprogrammable channel'??? thats my FAVORITE channel. sigh

UPDATE: we called and rebooted and WOOHOO!! i can now record the food network. hallelujah!

you can tape two things at once... but just make sure you're not taping a third that is overlapping...

ex:

taping show A from 9:00 - 10:00
taping show B from 9:00 - 10:00

trying to tape show C from 9:30 - 10

I'm able to tape food network on mine... that's my favorite channel too!

we have tivo, i'm not sure if its different than the dvr you have.

we have an older box, and i know is that ours has to be wired a certain way to be able tape two shows at once ....

so we now have 2 boxes (1 in the bedroom, 1 in the living room) ... and they're networked together, so we can transfer shows back and forth .... pretty convenient when you change your mind about where you want to watch something all the time like we do!

you can tape two things at once, but you have to be watching one of them.

You can tape two things at once. Your settings must be messed up. That happened to us too when we had to replace our DVR box. I don't remember how we fixed it. I do remember though that we called our cable company and had them walk us through it.

You are able to tape two shows at once...but like the person above said, you either have to be watching one of the shows, or watch something that you've already taped on your DVR. And you should definitely be able to record the food network. I would just call your cable company and they can walk you through the problems you're having.
