whats the difference you feel being married opposed to just dating

i think that people tend to treat us different a little more serious as a couple more so then we were dating .

also there is a thing called 'our money' that wasnt there when we were dating

For me not much has changed... I can just honestly call DH my husband.

I feel what has changed is the way we look at each other now and how our connection has become even stronger than it already was... it's a wonderful feeling to call him my husband...

Marriage definitley makes me feel even safer and secure than I did when we were dating. It's kind of an unspoken security.

If we have an oops pregnancy, it would look intentional.

Before, my whole family was walking on eggshells praying I wouldn't get preggo before the wedding (they're very old fashioned). When we wen't away to Italy, etc we couldn't really talk about it too much because it was taboo for us to stay in a room together.

It's like a lightswitch - before - we couldn't even hold hands. Now any affection is cooed and giggled at with encouragement.

We went away recently and everyone said 'yeah, go away - you need it.' I think they thought it was a baby making trip. But it was a get away from everyone trip

ex. this is my wife
this is my daughter-in-law
(my fav) this is my son-in-law

The 'our money' thing is a huge difference. 'What do you mean? I have to help pay the rent???'

It's funny. I'll be driving to work and all of a sudden think 'I'm married'. I don't feel that different.

I feel like we are more of a 'family' if that makes any sense, seeing as how it's technically still just the two of us (for another 6 mos anyway). It's like... it's 'our' household, it's 'our' mortgage, it's 'our holidays'...etc

There's this 'thing' called our 'marriage' that comes first. We have an obligation to each that comes first... now, we had this commitment before...but now that we are MARRIED, everyone ELSE recognizes and respects it also. That, I think, is the biggest, most noticeable difference.
