I cut my train off...never really wanted one to begin with...and I was pretty thankful, b/c my dress was very light and airy...(having bustled a few...I know they can be heavy)

I bustled mine before the first dance...I just didn't want to bother with it later and knowing my luck, my husband would have stepped on it and it would have ripped.

I went to cocktail hour and bustled before that. I couldn't stand the thing any longer. We did our photos before the ceremony.

AFTER the first dance....was told that it is a tradition that the first time you are annouced as a couple that your dress appears exactly the same as it was at your ceremony....

I bustled my dress after pics, and right before our entrance. Thank goodness I did it then, because it took them a half hour to line up my buttons I would have missed 30 minutes of my reception. Make sure you practice. It took 3 people to do it, and have no idea what was wrong with them I think too mmuch to drink. But my maitre 'de even had a hard time

I bustled mine after the cocktail hour but right before the first dance. We were doing a special dance so I needed it out of the way.
