Re: When sending a thank you when the gift came from the whole family but the kids didnt come...

I would write it out to the whole family - unless there are members of the family who were not invited
ok - what i mean is - the card i got from my aunt and uncle was also from my cousins who weren't at the wedding - they were invited but couldn't come because they were at sleepaway camp - i am sending thank you with all their names

I had another family that was invited but they signed the card including other members of the family who were not invited - only adressing TY to those who were invited.

sorry if this is confusing

Re: When sending a thank you when the gift came from the whole family but the kids didnt come...

It really depends. If they were all invited, I listed all of the names.

If only the parents were invited, I listed only the parents.

If only the parents were invited, but they also listed their 8 month old, I only listed the parents.

Sometimes, I find it ridiculous when people sign the name of a baby to the gift...(obviously, a baby didn't send the gift, the parents did)

The whole family was invited. They RSVP'd that they were all coming. Only the parents came, the children are 11 and 14. They signed the card from all of them.

I would address the thank you to the parents only, since the kids were no-shows
