When you changed you name at DMV...

Did they take your old ID or did you get to keep it?

I still have my old ID. And they gave me an iterim license until my new picture ID arrived in the mail.

I have my old id.
Something must be wrong with their camera because when they mailed me my license,it looks like I have greenish hair.

I was able to keep my old ID, but I had to re-take my picture again I actually LIKED how I looked in my old picture!

I had a nightmare when I went to DMV!!! And the wicked witch I was dealing with argued with me about getting to keep my old ID. I told her that in this day and age, we need photo ID for everything and what am I supposed to use in the meantime if you took it and she just looked at me like I had 10 heads and said 'you'll get your new one in the mail in 4-6 weeks' -- thank you very much! See, everyone I know got to keep their's and that makes me mad because that was the last thing with my name and address on it, plus that's about the only time I looked good on my driver's license!!

What DMV did you go to, I want to stay away from there...

here's a question: I am insured on LI and my car is registered on LI. I live in Jersey City- yes, I know this is bad but I do it to safe money. If i start changing my license and all my stuff to my new name do you think the insurance co will find out? I was planning on changing insurance and doing it legally this November which is when I would have been with my insurance company for 3 years and would be able to get a discount.

I live in Queens, so I went to the DMV in College Point -- not once, but twice!! I knew it was going to be a nightmare, so I waited until I was married 9 months to go the first time and then I waited another 2 months before I went back to finish what they wouldn't do the first time!!!
