When you see a prenant woman or a person

with kids whether on the train/bus. Or a women with kids struggling or needs help. Do you give up your seat to them/ offer your help?

I ask this question to women b/c its not the first time I've heard women say Men never give up their seats or help. My wonder is why is it that more WOMAN don't help? I'm not phrasing this to those that jump to help those people are rare and few. But like I said in another post I've had the experience of watching other women walk past, shut their eyes and ignore a fellow women in need of help.

I responded in the other thread, but YES I ALWAYS hold doors open or would give up my seat to a preggo or elderly person ANY TIME for ANY length of time... It's DISGUSTING when people don't... I've taken several hour long train rides standing, and I'd love the reason to be because I gave it up for someone who CANT

Yes. When I lived in the city I took the subway everywhere -- if I saw an elderly person or a preggers woman or a woman with a child I always got up and offered my seat. Its true tho -- I've NEVER seen a man offer his seat in a subway or train *** is that about?

DH always stands to offer his seat to women and elderly.

When we went to Mexico a few years ago we took the public bus to the mall and there were these women standing in the bus holding onto the ceiling rails and all the men were sitting. DH got so mad...he stood up and offered his seat to one of the women and when we got off the bus he ranted for hours about how rude the men were to just sit and watch the women trying to stay steady on the moving bus

Absolutley...ALWAYS. I was raised right.

I won't give up my seat for a person (man or woman) that looks young and healthy but always will for a pregnant woman, disabled, elderly or person with young children. It makes me angry when other people just ignore them.

Not holding doors for people is just plain rude.

I do have one bad habit which can be considered rude. I tend to not hold elevators for people. I'm usually running late!

i always get up and i always hold door for people. Just today, I was leaving the physical therapists office and a bunch of men ages 30-70 were entering the office. I stood there, holding the door open for all of them and they all looked at me and said thank you. It's common courtesy. i'd do it for anyone.

Also, when a man pretends to fall asleep on a train and a pregnant woman enters (and I'm standing so i can't help her,) i gently nudge the man's leg as if the train jurked to kinda wake him up - once he opens his eyes i'll softly mention that there's a pregnant woman on train. You wouldn't believe how many of them go right back to fake sleeping!!!!

I always offer my seat, but when it comes to moms struggling to discipline their kids, I don't do anything.... that's becuase I was reprimanded once for thinking that a woman's kid was being 'bad' (It was so obvious, he was having a loud tantrum in a shop!)

As for elevators, I always hold them (unless it's full).... Both our home and work has elevators, and I can't stand when someone looks at me in the eyes from inside the elevator as they watch the door close on me, and do nothing....

I always offer my seat on the train. However the last time I offered my seat to a woman I THOUGHT was pregnant, she said ' I'm not pregnant, just fat'!!!!! I was mortified!!!!

I ALWAYS hold doors and help people out. What is a couple of second out of my day to hold a friggin door Nothing.
I dont go on the train or bus so I cant say I give up my seat but I would if I did-I have the means to stand, then why not
THOUGH I will say that I cant stand when I hold the door for one person and they say TY and then 50 people follow and say nothing like you are the friggin door man....especially MEN!!! Im obnoxious- I will say your welcome to each and everyone-usually they turn around and say TY after that
