DH has lately gotten bad allergies and last night you would swear all he saw was the white light fast approaching
he started telling me who he wanted his personal items to be 'passed on to'. he told me he wanted me to move on and not dwell over him and to find love again. i took his temperature cause he supposedly felt hot and i told him anything over 98 or 99 is bad (i forget which one) and it came out to 97.3 and he said that death was near.
of course, this is all him being the big goofball that he is but he had me rolling cause he was semi serious.
oh, and robitussin and theraflu was the miracle cure for him men!!!

Re: when your DH gets sick...
Mine is EXACTLY the same way. I try to dose him up as much as possible on NYQUIL, and when he gets really whiny I start asking him where his life insurance policy is, I want to read the fine print....

I ahve to say Pete is pretty good-he is not a complainer BUT...he deos get irritable which is a sure sign he is sick because other wise he is never short tempered or snappy with me. but when he doesn't feel well...watch out! WIDE berth

Re: when your DH gets sick...
Oh God! I posted on this recently. DH recently had a mild chest infection and cold. You swore they diagnosed him with Ebola. He even took three weeks off from the gym because he said he wanted to finish his antibiotics and its not a god idea to work out (any excuse not to work out) But he was able to hang with his friends every other day!

Re: when your DH gets sick...
Steve is SO not a complainer! Whenever he's feeling sick... I know he really means it!!!!
I always think he's being a baby and faking it... but then, like last weekened, all of a sudden he starts throwing up... then I feel terrible!!!!

I must admit that I am more of a baby when I am sick than DH is. DH just becomes more quiet and he just likes to veg out and watch some tv.

Re: when your DH gets sick...
DH had a horrible migraine all day yesterday and he admits it himself, 'All it takes is one of my migraines to reduce a 30 yo to a baby.' ah, i don't mind, he's likes extra snugs when he gets that way so i benefit.
lupita, your story about what DH was saying had me rolling

OMG you would think we married the same person Mines, is an only child so when he even sneezes he expects the world to stop. He will whine and tell me how he's dying (but his appetite wont be affected in the least, yet still has energy to go to the gym). I just tell him to leave me alone and go take a nap Picture our hm, bc he is allergic to mosquitos and had huge swells in his body.

I'll group mine along with you guys! He's also a HUGE hypochondriac- to the point where he gives himself anxiety/panic attacks thinking he has cancer when it's just indigestion.

omg DH is that same way- he acts like it's death at the door- he also gets very clingy and I can't walk out of the room for but a minute!
I love it when he takes something that would knock him out to dreamland for a bit so I can just watch TV in the other room..

Re: when your DH gets sick...
i have a 46 year old baby on my hands.
Last time he got sick, mind you I was sick at the same time, he acted as if he was at death's door. I got so tired of hearing him complain that I actually went to work after 3 days just to get away from him. He was home for TWO WEEKS !
One day he asked me to just put him out of his misery. He was not amused when I took out my steel and started sharpening my chef's knife. Shut him up though.

Re: when your DH gets sick...
DH is the complete opposite. He refuses to tell me that he's sick and acts all macho. I'm pretty sure it's partly due to me going into Doctor mode and forcing medication down his throat when I think he's sick

Mine is a huge hypo too! One time he actually thought he could develop cerebral palsy. He was genuinely scared and I had to explain it to him so he could calm down. He's also afraid of taking medication, he'll read the back of the bottle for like 10 minutes to be sure its okay.

A toast to all our hypo hubbys. Mines has developed: asthma and back spasms (since I have those). Thank God he has good insurance bc he will run to the doctor for anything. One time the doctor told him he was suffering from fatigue. FATIGUE!!! *** is that? I laughed in his face for it

Re: when your DH gets sick...
OMG Lupe, i was cracking up reading about how he wanted his things to be passed on!!!
dh is the same! not only will he claim he's dying, he'll take about a thousand different pills/remedies and claim nothing is working (maybe, just maybe its cuz he doesnt use anything consistently )it doesnt help that his father actually encourages this!!!
sigh... the things we put up with!

Re: when your DH gets sick...
He is a whinny, cranky, son of a gun...he's been sick a lot these last couple of months...he pumps himself up with Robo & Nyquil but still keeps himself and ME up..you think he would go to the doctor more often to find out what the problem is but he tells me he forgets...HOW does one forget that they are sick....
