I was sitting in the laundromat, reading a book, when I just had this feeling. It was the night before our second date.
When I got home I wrote about it in my journal. In the past I'd met guys and a couple times I thought to myself 'Yeah, he's the one' but was I ever wrong! With DH, it was a feeling rather than a thought, if that makes any sense.
What about you? Did you have a lightbulb moment?

Re: When/How Did You Know DH Was 'The One'?
When he came over to watch a Yankee game. At that point, my son who was 3 at the time, thought Jim was just a friend of mine and Jim got down on the floor with him and read him this huge book and answered all of Scotty's questions and it was just so cute. It made me realize just how sweet he was and what a great father he would make.

I met my dh working at my 1st job at 17. He used to fool around and one day he picked me up (like walking over the threshold after being married) and I JUST knew I would marry him. It was just a feeling I had-Weird!!

Re: When/How Did You Know DH Was 'The One'?
this is a long one .. but worth it i think....
Well we were friends for year and then broke up but we never really stopped talking and to say the least I was a little ***** to him while we were broken up and then we slowly got back but we didn't tell our families yet or at least not mine anyway on 9/11 I was working block form the WTC and I called him b/c he works near there too. Luckily he hadn't left yet so I was stuck downtown til about three and I call him as often as I could ( I was stuck in my office building, not stuck but they wouldn't let us leave they thought our building was safer than being outside since I worked for the federal reserve bank the building was a very secure building) anyway his mom told me that from the time I called him to the time the buildings fell until he spoke to me again he was like a lunatic crying and worrying about me. He mom said she's had never seen him like that. Then at one point he had to call my mom ( who didn't know I was seeing him again) and she later told me that he was crying to her saying that he really loves me..
So I Guess you could say 9/11 really made me oppen my eyes and see him for what he really was and realize we broke up for silly reasons.

Re: When/How Did You Know DH Was 'The One'?
I think part of me kind of always knew, and in a weird way I think he did too. We started dating very young- I was 17 he was 18 (I'm now 27, he's 28) After we kissed for the first time, DH told me that I would never be his girlfriend. LOL! He said that he really liked me, but he wasn't looking for a girlfriend. When he told me that he loved me 5 months later I knew that there was something special about us. We did the on-and-off thing for a while- we had a lot of growing up to do. But through it all, we always found our way back to each other. 10 years later, here we are.

he told me, and i believed him
actually... i knew the 1st night i met him. he kept looking at me and trying to talk to me, and i would politely excuse myself, and 1 of my friends asked why i didnt want to talk to him and i said it was b/c i wasnt ready to get married. she goes 'you just have to talk to him, not marry him', and i said 'Well, If i talk to him, i'm gonna end up Marrying him'
