where did you go on your honeymoon? or where would you go if you could do it all over?
and would you recommend it? dh and i will go on our honeymoon at some point this summer (whenever the job allows). I want to have all the details mappe out so as soon as we get the ok we can go and have a blast. we want somewhere that is pure paradise. we want to lounge around on the beach , drink, eat and escape to our room whenever we want. suggestions please.

we went to caneel bay resort in st. johns, USVI and i wouldnt have chosen ANY other place. it was amazingggggg and i highly recommend it. if you need info my HM review is at the bottom of my wedding review.
it sounds like what youre looking for- pure paradise, pristine beaches to lounge on. def read the review and see what you think!
wish i could go back right now!!!!!!!!

DH and I went to Tahiti, Moorea, and Bora Bora. We had an AMAZING time!!! It was two weeks of absolute bliss!! We would go back in a heartbeat!!

Same here. We absolutely LOVED ITTTTT!!! Can only WISH we could go back, and if we had to do it all over again we would in a heartbeat. Seriously, this is the kind of trip that, for us, is a once in a lifetime trip, and if we hadn't gone for our honeymoon, there's no way we could have justified it later on when we have even MORE responsibilities, hopefully children, possibly a house, etc. So once we realized that, we went with it and it was fab.
We had also considered going back to Hawaii, but only staying in Maui which was our favorite island. People convinced us to go somewhere we haven't been in the past and I'm happy we did, but if you've never been, Hawaii is AMAZING and would be a beyond great HM location.
We also considered Italy and got some quotes, but in the end we opted to save that for a future vacation for two main reasons - the first is that in October its rainy season and the temp is similar to NY's temp in October (meaning high in the 60's) and we wanted warmer weather for our honeymoon. The second and main reason we opted not to go for our HM was because we knew we would be completely pooped by the time it was time for the HM and we wanted a more relaxing vacation since we would be leaving right after the wedding AND our moving in together (and everything that comes along with those two things). Going to Italy, the way I want to go to Italy, means a LOT of walking, a lot of traveling, siteseeing, etc. So we decided we'll try to take this dream trip at another point in the future when (if) we are able. HOWEVER, if we were taking our HM a couple/few months after our wedding, this option would definitely have been back on the table.

We went to Costa Rica. It far exceeded my expectations. The hotel we stayed in was top notch and just unreal. I highy recommend checking out Hotel Villa Caletas

We went to Hawaii and it was unreal. If I could do it differently, I'd skip Oahu-- DH is a history fanatic and we went there just to see Pearl Harbor. I would just do Maui and probably Kauai.
ETA: Pearl Harbor was awesome, but the rest of the island was very developed and the beach was really touisrty, not at all like some we went to in Maui that were totally secluded

DH and I went to ST LUCIA...it was amazing I would totally recommend it.

We went to Bangkok and Khao Lak in Thailand. It was amazing and we are going back to Thailand next year for our 2nd anniversary. I wouldn't recommend as a summer vacay because it's the rainy season from Late June to early October

We went to aruba. Luved it & can't wait to go back. weather is perfect & there is no hurricane season. if you just want to lounge by pool & beach you will luv aruba. we stayed at the hyatt one of the best hotels on the island. there are alot other hotels too.

We went on a cruise and loved it.. It was only about 2300 for the two of us including airfare and we got to go to 5 different islands!

We just got back from 13 days in Kauai, HI. It was amazing....very undeveloped compared to the other Hawaiian islands. Some of the beaches we went to had only 2 other people on it. A large portion of the island is still pristine since their main road doesn't run through all of the island. You can only see those parts by helicopter or boat.
The first Jurassic park was filmed there, if you want to get a sense of what it looks like.

We spent 2 weeks in the US virgin islands; one week on st thomas one week on st john. It was absolutely wonderful and had everything we wanted: gorgeous beaches to snorkel on (we're huge snorkel fans), not too crowded, direct flights not too far from nyc, totally safe environment, shopping, day trips to other islands, hiking, sightseeing.

we saved a lot of money by having our wedding in Ireland, and since we were already there took ryanair to Italy for a mini-moon. We only had 5 days so we did Venice, Florence, and Rome. We had a great time!!
The next vacation break we went to St. Lucia Sandals Grande and had a blast.

we went to costa rica and traveled around the country for 11 days. it was absolutely amazing and i wouldn't have gone anywhere else. it was the perfect combination of adventure and relaxation

We went to Jamaica.. We LOVED it! We stayed at the Sunset at the Palms Resort in Negril.
If I could have done it all over again, there were lots of places I would have preferred. I would have loved Hawaii, Bora Bora, Tahiti, etc. but we just didnt' have the money to do it.

We are trying to go back this year for our 2nd Anniversary.

We went to Italy (Rome, Sorrento, Florence & Venice) for two weeks. Loved it and would do it all over again. We didn't want to do a beach type of honeymoon, we've been to St. Johns a few years before that anyway.
