Where does one buy window coverings that are not blinds?

we are moving into our new house this weekend and since its new construction it has not one window covering. The quote for blinds we got was $1500 .

I was thinking of alternatives like drapes and stuff like that. But where do you go to buy stuff like that? Do they measure them and cut them to fit your windows?

Im clueless!

Try Home Depot or Lowes.

I got my curtains/drapes from Lowes, Target and JC Penney.

The norm is that the curtain should be 2x as wide as the window, and as long as you want it to be.

My friend bought these paper blinds from a home store when she moved into her house, she has had them taped up for years, she needed window coverings quickly and didn't have time to really look or the money to spend.
