I did get a new job though but have no idea when I start. I'll now be taking the LIRR to work everyday into LIC. I currently drive to Stamford CT

CONGRATS!!!! Your commute will only be about 45 minutes now right? You live pretty close to the queens border if I remember correctly so your train ride won't be too long at all. That's great news Andrea!!!!

Yep! They made an announcement about 7:50 that we were going to be stopped at Lynbrook because of 'track conditions'. We crawled through but then were stopped the rest of the time outside of Jamaica. They finally found out that two trains 'sideswiped' (think it was actually 'bumped) at Jamaica. It was kind of annoying being stuck so long, but I'm just so glad we finally got through. At one point, they thought they were going to be terminating trains. Then we would've had to transfer to the subway. I didn't end up getting in until about 10:00...ugh.

Guess it could've been worse...glad I wasn't on one of the trains that were involved.

they cancelled our 733 train, but made no announcement. didn't get to work until 1020. yeah, great start to this day.

Ooh, that's even worse. Luckily they kept us informed. Yeah, they first said they were expecting to terminate trains. I was so glad ours ended up going through and then it was express. It took awhile because there were so many trains backed up. I thought for sure we were going to have to get off at Jamaica and take the subway, so I was relieved about that. There are still delays, too.
