where to get portraits framed...

I just had a large portrait from the wedding framed for my in laws. I had the photographers do it. But I think it was very expensive.
Has anyone gotten pictures framed someplace other than their photographers? Like MIchaels or someplace?
Any recommendations?
Approximately how much should a nice frame cost for a large picture say 20x24 or something like that?
OH, and they are also doing the color cardboard borders around the picture so I guess the frame will be even bigger!

we took our to michaels and absolutely love them....
(1) 20x20
(2) 16x16
(4) 10x10
some were matted too, if I can remember correctly, they all came to about $500 for the frames we chose.

I purchased a 16x20 portrait of my immediate family for my parents for xmas.

II went to Michael's and purchased a 16x20 frame (the picture didn't need a matte) - the frame was originally $50, but I got it for $25 when all frames were on sale for 50% off. They have a large selection to choose from!
