My fiance and I are looking into cruises to bermuda for our July 2003 honeymoon. I have found out that Bermuda is probably the best way for us to go since we dont want to fly anywhere...many of those cruises leave either from nyc itself or boston which we can drive to. Thing is I dont personally know anyone who has taken these cruises before. I have checked out cruise critic.com but I would like personal feedback as well. We also prefer a room with a balcony since it is our honeymoon. Does anyone have any recommendations? Has anyone sailed before, it doesnt have to be only to Bermuda though. We have checked out celebrity, norwegian and royal caribbean so any info would be great! Thanks in advance ladies!

My sister and BIL are on a cruise to Bermuda right now on Celebrity. If you can wait until next Sunday I can get the details from them.

My parents cruise to Bermuda on Royal Caribbean and Norweigian all the time. They love them both. They always get a suite with a balcony and have a great time.

My cousin went to Bermuda on Royal Caribbean's Nordic Empress for her honeymoon. They had a blast!

I just got back from a Celebrity cruise to Bermuda, and it was great! However, I am almost positive that they don't have any cabins with balconies on the two ships that sail from NYC.

I just got back from a cruise on Celebrity to Bermuda, and we had a GREAT TIME. I will say honestly though, the Celebrity ships, (I went on the Horizon) IN MY OPINION, are not the greatest ships to get a first impression from. This was our 3rd cruise and the other ships we went on were brand new and maybe under 5 years old. The Celebrity are about 10-12 years old. The newer 'grander' ships have a more luxurious touch to them. If you dont mind an older ship, then Celebrity was really great. The food was great, the service was excellent. Another positive thing about the HORIZON (not the Zenith) Is that this is the only ship that gives you a $50 spending card each for shopping in Bermuda. Hey, its better than nothing :) If the RC or Norwegian ships are newer, i might try them first, since it is your honeymoon it would have that special touch, if it were a newer ship. Just my opinion :)

My aunt and uncle (they go on three cruises a year, lucky them!) just returned from the Nordic Empress and they said whenever the ship was coming in and out of port the entire dining room would literally shake, utensils and everything. My aunt asked about it and management told her it was a 'minor mechanical problem' they would fix immediately. That was enough to steer me away from that ship, but hopefully by the time your honeymoon comes around they'll have fixed the problem. I would stick with Celebrity-they are top of the line!

I have only been on Royal Carribean so I have nothing else to compare it to, but it was unbelievable!! The service was first class, the food was delicious, and the boat was beautiful. We were on the Explorer of the Seas from Miami to the Carribean, but I know they have many cruises leaving from NY. Definitely check them out. You wont be disappointed.
