DH has the energy... I don't... but it's only bc I haven't been feeling well lately... like today... he went to Atlantic City for some beer festival with his friends and I laid on my sister's couch all day with a splitting headache that 4 pills later STLL hasn't gone away... it's things like this that make me feel worse... I wish I could have gone

same here! I love to go out & do things but he's so tired that he always wants to 'stay in & relax'. When we do go out he gets tired really fast also, I feel bad.

my hubby isnt in construction, but he's always pooped. He works crazy hours though -- he's up at 4am for physical training and doesnt get home til 6pm poor guy. I dont blame him for being exhausted.

On the weekends I let him sleep in real late and then he's always up for partying at night.

I soo needed this thread! Nice to know Im not alone in the boat. our date night Fridays have turned into 'Fall-Asleep-by-8pm' Fridays.

DH works as a truck driver driving a car carrier. He loads and unloads his own 9 car trailer so its a very physical job with tightening everything and scrambling around on the desks (SCARY!) amd his hours are really screwy. (based around avoiding the worst traffic like Washinton DC)

He gets an average of 5 hours a night so he can get home to me and he'd dead by the weekend. Its hard because he is doing it to spend time with me but our time is cut in half by his exhaustion and he doesn't want to listen when i tell him I'd rather him get more sleep so the time we do spend together is awake and mobile

my hubby for the most part has energy ... the only thing that tires him is waking up at 4:40 in the morning. but it doesnt stop him!

Mine drives a bus, and he's got long hours, gets up at 4am and gets home at about 6:15. BUT he has a nice long stretch in between where he hangs out with the guys at the depot.

But, he is also one of the world's greatest couch potatoes. He's out of shape, and has no energy to do things or help me around the house.
Amazingly though, if someone else needs help, he's there in a moment.
Something is wrong with this picture......... and I'm not happy.

My DH- and it gets depressing sometimes because I'm not from LI and really don't know anyone here so I hang with my friends in the city when he's knocked out.

But it's a pain getting home from the city so needlees to say I don't like living in LI.

Mine doesn't have a physically demanding job, but he comes home every night mentally drained.

you are totally not alone in the boat! we are also a friday night home-by-5-asleep-by-9 couple which is freaking ridiculous! I dont take away from the fact that dh has an incredibly tough job, he works outside (even in those horrid 10 degree days!!!!!) and is shot by the time he gets home. It's just so upsetting that the weekends are for house cleaning and couch warming.

my brother makes fun of us cause he knows we're tucked in by 9!

we briefly went to a counselor about this issue, and tried various solutions but nothing seems to work. the bottom line is he would have to get another job to solve this problem and thats not happening so girls I ask you what to do about it??

same with my DH....he usually passes out on the couch at like 8 pm...or the other night, when he fell asleep while i was making dinner! i always give him crap about it, but I'd be a zombie too if i worked 14 hour days
