Re: Who put the most effort into being at your wedding?

My friend from high school who lives in Albany now (and I just went to her wedding in Nov up in Saratoga)!!! She came all the way down, but my mother's sister and the rest of my relatives who were DEFINITELY coming from Florida, at the last minute 'couldn't' come up. Mind you, my aunt came up for every other niece/nephew wedding, and was up in May (5 months before my wedding) for my other cousin's, but missed mine. And of course you know we all schlepped down to Florida for both of her kids weddings. Whatever. Family, you can't pick 'em and if you could, you probably wouldn't pick half of them!

Funny, when my sister got married, I was all ticked off when some of my cousins didn't come, but when it came time for mine, I said the people who REALLY want to be there for me and with me, will be there -- and they were!!!

My DH's family is ALL from out of state. Some of his family came from Canada. But I guess the most important person for me was that my Uncle Frank and Aunt MaryAnn came in from CA. My Uncle said the blessing at the reception before dinner.

One of our GM is a merchant marine and is out to sea for 6 months out of the year. He came home 3 days before our wedding and packed up his wife and 2 kids(whom he hadn't even seen for Christmas) came to our rehersal and wedding

My brother ,Aunt and cousin drove thru a snowstorm and another cousin came from Oregon

Re: Who put the most effort into being at your wedding?

my Mom's only brother flew in from Arizona with his wife and two of his children. One missed high school and the other missed college to be there. They stayed a whole week. We were too busy to spend much more time with them, but it meant so much to my Mom. She had not seen her brother since my Grandpa's funeral and they did not always speak.
