no no oneever comes over unexpectedly.
His parents live walking distance from us- so the potential is there, but I guess they don't like to walk very far

none of them ever just stop by...we're not close enough. My parents are more likely to say 'we're in brooklyn, so we're half way to you...do you want to go out to dinner.' DHs parents live closer, but his mom is more nervous about 'imposing' on us.

DH's definitely. Even though they live in NC sometimes we only get 3 days notice before a visit. And they HAVE A KEY.

actually neither. My parents are also within walking distance, but they never just 'stop by' unannounced. Our place is SO small that its really not comfortable for anyone to visit , to be honest. And DH's parents are too far and have only been to our apartment one time since we've been living together!
Though my mom LOVES our kitty and she will come by during the daytime (when we're both at work) to play with her , give her treats, etc. Hey its her 'grandkitty' what can I say? So I guess technically my Mom 'wins'

DH's parents almost never come by unexpected, but my parents do. They don't do it too often, but they definitely do it. My sister not only comes over uninvited, but she has a tendency of just walking in. Did I mention she's my next door neighbor.

Neither. Everyone calls before coming. As for who visits more... DH's parents. They live closer.

We live in an apartment and come to think of it neither set of parents drop in on us EVER! BUT my grandparents live upstairs so that is enough!

Thats cool..
My cousins live downstairs and my aunt uncle and 3 other cousins live across the street so they do come over unexpected.

DH parents live in Florida - so they don't come by often. So I would have to say my parents come over more often, especially after we got the puppy - they come over at least twice a week to see her (but they always call in advance and ask if they can come over)

My mom...we live 10 minutes from one another, but we have dinner with ILs almost every Sunday.

My mom lives in Queens, so if she wants to come over, I have to drive in to pick her up!!!
my in-laws live 5 minutes away, but they never come over unexpectedly.

Neither. We live in an apartment. My parents live over an hour away and ILs live 20-40 minutes away (depending on traffic).
