Who was your DJ

I am in the process of looking at DJ's and its so confussing. I didnt have this much confussion looking at halls or photographers.

I am hoping you can post who you used and what you got (giveaways, lights, etc..) and FM me what you paid (this way you dont have to post what you paid).

Thanks girls

We used Energy Entertainment in Plainview. I did not want any lights or smoke due to I had a day wedding at the Crescent Beach Club. They were very good, but price in retrospect

My friend used Ralph from High Energy Entertainment, and he was really good, and so were his prices.

Spin Around Sound - we were very happy with them.

QT Productions- I highly recommend them! I didn't want any giveaways- I had minimal lights. The price was very reasonable.

I used spin around sound. no big whoop.

Do a search for my 'wonderful' review of them.
I got married in Oct 2000.
They are WAYYYY over-rated. I could have just gotten Joe Shmoe and given him a few cd's to play.

Re: Who was your DJ

I used spin around sound as well...but I have to disagree with anna...although I had a minor issue or two...the music makes a huge difference...even though I picked out so much of it...

the reason I say this is my sister went with someone who was less expensive...but didn't know what he was doing...for the anniversary dance (where all married couples get up and sit depending on how long they were married)...my sisters dj had my sis and BIL get in the middle of the floor and dance again alone...and he said 'I guess this is what they want to be the song played on their anniversary' so nonchalantly...I went to the dj and had to explain to him how it worked...thank goodness I did...b/c the people who ended up winning...the wife passed away 2 months later...so it was a nice recognition for her and her husband...

I used Spin Around Sound and I was very very happy wth them. They played what I asked and altered some of their usual stuff to suit my tastes (for example - I didn't want slow, mushy love songs during the cocktail hour and dinner - I wanted slow rock songs and other stuff that was more us.) They were not cheesy at all. They did not drag people up to the dance floor - the music they played got people up and dancing. The DJ and MC was 100% professional.

I got their middle package. I got white lightening (evening wedding so I wanted some kind of lights but not too clubby), no smoke or bubble machines or giveaways or anything.

FM me if you want to know about what I paid.

Sensational Sounds and they were great and reasonable. A lot of people said it was the best DJ they had seen in a long time and the dance floor was packed. Our MC was so good about everything, he would run something past me before he did it and I thought that was great. FM me if you want more details. This was one detail I didn't hem and haw over at all!

Re: Who was your DJ

I used Krompier entertainment. He was great but he was a little snippy when he came in b/c he got a ticket.(Not my problem especially on my wedding day!) That is the reason I probably wouldn't go w/him again. I would go w/ LI sound as my second choice or if I ever needed a DJ again. They are really nice. I also checked out Spin around sound and they kinda turned me off. (they were w/in $50 of the price I was given by the other two and he was trying to hold out for that...a HUGE turnoff) JMO!
