Why can't you wear the gown after it has been preserved?

I have always wondered about this. IS it the chemicals? What if you just got the dress cleaned and not preserved-could you wear it then?

I believe they store it in a sealed bag without oxygen.... since it's the O2 in the air that causes the gown to yellow over time. If you open the bag, the seal is broken, and your gown is doomed to yellow......

Actually the place I got it done guarentees it and if you take it out of the box it still holds its warranty. The only thing is it would get dirty probably and you would have to get it cleaned and do the process again and im not sure how many times you can do it.

mine is on the floor of my bedroom in a plastic bag......

My mom had hers saved and preserved. Its gorgeous....but I wouldn't have worn it. I can't part with mine....but there is NO WAY i'm spending $500 to preserve it for my daughter (what if I have all boys?) to keep under her bed for her entire life.

I just dropped mine off at Bridal Reflections and it was only $250 ($275 if you didn't buy your gown there). I can't just let it yellow!
