I actually have to say that our relationship is so much better now that we are married. We argued a lot before the wedding, mostly because I was putting pressure on both of us to get our house completely renovated in the 4 months before our wedding. I did everything for the wedding myself and was very stressed at work at that time too.
We did live together before we got married and had merged our finances, so there was no big adjustment. It was so great to come back from HM into our new home and to settle into a proper routine.

we lived together since we were enaged - we don't really share money- but he does make comments about what I spend my money on- which isn't fair b/c I always have the money to pay my part of the bills- so who is he to tell me what I can spend my money on- I don't tell him what he can and can not buy

This was very helpful ladies..My FI and I currently do not live together and will not until after the wedding...I was really nervous because everyone has always said how hard that 1st year was...but you all put it into perspective for me!

Luckily,
We haven't had any trouble adjusting. We lived together before we were married and spilt everything equally. Since we've been married, there are less fights about money.

I guess the adjusting part of it is hard for some people but luckily it has been working out great for us...I couldn't be happier
