DH and I are not TTC yet but I am looking for a new OBGYN and would like to choose a doctor that is affiliated with the hospital I want to deliver at.
Does anyone have any info on these two hospitals and which one is better for delivery?
Thanks!

Re: Winthrop v. North Shore Manhasset
I don't really have to much information I am sorry. My mom delivered all of us kids at Winthrop and she loves that hospital.
I am mostly looking into either Winthrop or LIJ because of their nic units...where the babies are in incubators when premature etc.
In my family alone my mom had 2 premies(hte twins being one of them- so 3 babies prematurely). God forbid this happens to me I want to have the best hospital to deliver in and take care of my child.
So I too am looking for a new OBGYN that works from LIJ or Winthrop even though we are def not trying to concieve right now. But I will let you know if I found out any good doctors.

I have two good doctors, one which works out of WInthrop and one North Shore. I am just not sure which one to go with!

Re: Winthrop v. North Shore Manhasset
i will be giving birth at winthrop. honestly, i dont' think you can go wrong with either. Winthrop is know for their NICU - it's supposed to be one of the best around. My step sister who lives in Mt Sinai had all 4 of her kids at Winthrop, my step sister-in-law had 4 there, my SIL just gave birth there. everyone i know who's had a baby there is happy with the hospital. i hope to be too!

Re: Winthrop v. North Shore Manhasset
I was in North Shore Manhasett 4 years ago in May in their CCU unit and they gave me the best care. My friend delviered there and she had a good experience. I've also only heard great things about Winthrop.

Re: Winthrop v. North Shore Manhasset
I think it depends on who you ask. Northshore is part of the LIJ system too.
My sister and best friend both had their babies at Northshore and had great experiences. My niece was in the NICU for a day but thankfully there was nothing wrong.
Since they are both good hospitals you may want to find a doctor you love and just go where they are affiliated with.

Yea thats what I was thinking. I want to meet with the doctor I posted above because she seems to be very popular. She is associated with Winthrop.
