This morning I woke up, early looking for a sub job for the day, and the puppy was not right. She was lethargic and limp, and wimpering in my arms. She threw up all over her bed. My mom came and got me and we rushed her to the emergency clinic. She is ok now, probably a reaction to her medicine combined with low blood sugar.
She gave me quite a scare.
Now I am exhausted. At least I didn't take a job today. I am curled up with her on the couch.

I'm so sorry to hear you had such a scare! It's a horrible feeling to see your fur baby in distress. I hope both of you are feeling better soon!

Aw that stinks Michelle. What medicine is she on already and for what? The low blood sugar thing happens A LOT more than I realized. My SIL has a teacup poodle and she went into shock from low blood sugar, it also happened to Abby (nightmare! OMG superbowl sunday nightmare lol) and my friend's dog too! They have these drops or little sugar pills you can give them, I know that most pet stores sell them. Ask your vet if that's ok. It happens a lot more with really small dogs like Chihuahuas, teacup/toy poodles, min-pins etc. I'm glad you're able to just rest with her

She's on meds for a parasite, probably something she got at the breeders. Not hard to do when their are 16 dogs around. Especially since puppies eat EVERYTHING!
They gave me this tube of sugar stuff to give her. Its molasses with vitamins and she LOVES it. So she should be ok.
I just have to watch and make sure she doesn't react to the meds again. I gave them to her at about 10:30 so I am just watching her like a hawk. She seems ok.

Awww Poor thing! I woudn't of gone to work either!! I am such an animal lover..especially on puppies!!!

So the baby is doing much better. She is exhausted though. I think she will be ok. What a scare I had though this morning. Its amazing how fast you love them so much. I can't even imagine what it will be like with a baby.

Im glad to hear that Candy is doing better. I remember we bought a golden lab pup once from a breeder on LI & within 3 weeks the dog was near death b/c of a terrible parasite she had...luckily we were able to return the dog back to the breeder for a refund. They asked us if they were able to get her back healthy again if we would want her & we were pretty hesitant to say yes (although we loved the dog/puppy) Sadly our pup ended up dying a week after we returned it. Needless to say we never went to that breeder again.
It's really good that you were home when this happened. Hugs & Kisses for Candy!
