wish me luck

wish me luck

I have to go to my BILs wedding tonight and I am SO not looking forward to it. After all the drama over whether I should go with my IL's for family photos, we all decided that I should go. Then my BIL called DH and I asked him that I not come. He doesn't want to 'upset' his FW before their ceremony.
Whatever to that!!!

Either that or I would go anyway ( for the pictures I mean)

Her greatest wish for this day is to have me not show up. I would NEVER give her the satisfaction.

NICOLE, OMG! This is just terrible. She obviously told her FH to tell your DH to keep you out of the photos.

I would NEVER EVER EVER invite this woman to ANYTHING EVER again! Not your baby shower, not your child's christening- NOTHING! Not even a Barbeque.

HOW DARE SHE!!!!!

This is just terrible. AND, shame on your DH for allowing this to happen! Well, if he can see it her way for HER photos, than he better see it YOUR way in the future when you say that you don't want her around!!!

I agree and was going to say the same thing but dont want to add fuel to your fire right now!!

I also know how it feels b/c I very much dislike my bil's girlfriend and she very much dislikes me. It hard to leave her out of things / not invite her even if I don't want her around b/c DH is so close to his brother and gets upset if I even mention that kind of thing.

Re: wish me luck

Fortunately, the wedding was uneventful (as far as drama goes.) and quite frankly, if I had to sum the wedding up in one word it would be 'unimpressive.' I don't want to offend anyone with this hall, so I will try not to trash it too bad. And in all fairness, I'm sure a lot of it was their personal decision.
The setting for the ceremony was beautiful. It was outdoors right next to the Bronx River with trees all around- it was really a gorgeous setting. After the ceremony they had a small recieving line and when I congratulated my now SIL she was like 'yeah thanks.'
There was very little food at the CH and the passed hors duerves were teeny. So basically we all went into the reception starving. As we're walking in, there was a bar outside and I was like, cool, a little bonus for the smokers. So we got into the reception room and we all realize that there's no bar. The bar outside is the bar for the entire reception. What would they have done if it rained?!
So the first course was a lobster and corn soufle. Some people liked it, but it seemd that most didn't- including myself. Then there was a salad, and hwat can you really say about salad. For the entrees there were only two choices- beef with wasabi sauce and halibut. I got the beef, DH got the fish. I had ordered my steak medium-well and I was served a hockey puck. Dh wasn't entralled with his fish either. Then at the end they go around serving coffee and I asked for an espresso. They told me that the B&G didn't pay for that so I can't get one. Mind you, my ILs are very Italian and EVERY meal ends with espresso, so I know they had to be disappointed too. There weren't even any kind of after dinner drinks or cordials.
My now SIL had bragged to one of my friends that she was having these very elaborate centerpieces hanging from the ceiling, so imagine our disappointment when we walked in and each table had three candles on it. Ummmm, where were her fancy shmancy CPs?!

Hey Nicole!

I'm sorry your SIL is so nasty!
What hall was it? I'm just curious, b/c I can't think of anything on the Bronx River.

So, did you skip the pictures?

Re: wish me luck

The wedding was at Snuff Mill at the Botanical Gardens.
I didn't go with my ILs for family pictures, but I think I wound up in a lot more pictures than she would have wanted anyway. All the girls (our friends I mean) got together to take pictures with our own cameras and her potographer took a few too. During the ceremony I was sitting with my ILs so I'm sure I wound up in a few of those. And I also saw her photographer taking a bunch of pictures when we were on the dance floor, so I'm in a bunch of those too.
I was told that the photographer didn't take many family pictures anyway, so I guess I didn't miss much. My MIL said they only took one picture of her and the bride and they didn't even get a single picture of just my DH, his brother and their sister. So I guess I shouldn't feel too bad about the whole thing.
My FIL did pull DH and I into family pictures with our personal cameras, so that will have to do.
