Wish me luck! - Update at Bottom
I'm leaving to get on a plane to go to San Francisco in a few hours because I've got a grad school interview at Palo Alto University's Clinical Psychology PhD program. A couple of weeks ago I interviewed at Massachusetts School of Professional Psychology for their Clinical Psych PsyD program (found out on Monday I got in), but this is the program I really really want to get into so I'm super nervous.
This has been such a stressful process. Statistically it's more difficult to get into Clinical Psych Program than Med School (like 200 people will apply for 5-10 spots at a school and it's partially based on if the professor you want to work with is even accepting students that year---and you do all the work yourself. There's no clearing house to send all your stuff to and have them do all the work). And its been my dream to be a psychologist since I was 16. I've been so stressed out I was ready to change careers if I didn't get in anywhere.
Sooooo, I know I already got in somewhere, but so much of where I go is contingent on whether or not DH can come with me and keep his job and they've already said if I got into school at PAU they'd let him transfer out to their office there. So keep your everything crossed for me!!! I'll be back on Sunday.
Sunday afternoon Update:
Hi all! Just got back from my interview (took the red eye in last night and passed out upon getting home) and I am pumped. I really liked Palo Alto and I really liked PAU. The interview went great and one of the professors basically said that he's really interested in my work and will personally guarantee that I get in.
The program is such a good match for my career goals so I'm really really excited.
Yay!!!
