Wizard Sighting in Queens!

So, we did it. My friend Matt and I dressed up like wizards. We went to the 10 PM show in Astoria and were the only two dressed up and it was PACKED. Most people loved us, we got a few but we just laughed it off. We also were pretty drunk, which helped our situation. We took a few shots of patron before heading out and brought with us a bottle of Captain Morgan to spike our soda. Everytime we had to move on line, the bottle would fall out of my friend's robes. But no one said anything, they thought it was funny. The people at the movie theatre took a picture with us! It was an awesome night and an awesome movie. I cried like a baby, though I maintain I was more emotional due to alcohol.

One with out the robe, because our ties were SO bad assss.

Thanks! At least we already have our Halloween costumes this year.

I know. I can't believe it. How did you like it? The 3-D was pretty cool. I've only ever seen one movie in 3-D and that was Toy Story! lol!

Re: Wizard Sighting in Queens!

We didn't see the 3d one...just the regular one. Haven't seen a movie in 3d yet and didn't want to test it out on this one.

I liked it...felt the ending was different than the book...from what I remembered. And I don't want to give anything away but...

SPOILER ALERT IF YOU HAVEN'T SEEN IT YET!!!

At the very very end - when it was 19 years later...I thought the 'aging' they did of the characters was not good at all. It was just slap some older clothes on them and put their hair a different way...not believable at all!

I know! They just looked fatter. I wasn't a fan of that part of the book anyway. Albus Severus.

See, I thought it was pretty true to the books. More so than I expected. It was just the jumping off the cliff thing that they showed in the previews that was really different.

DH and our friend who went to the movie with us were talking about the differences on the drive home...DH has read each book probably about 5 to 7 times. So sitting next to him for Harry Potter is no fun cause he'll elbow me and say 'that's not how it was in the book'.

I still thought it was very entertaining...some boy in the bathroom said 'Snape is Harry's father?' - DH got a good chuckle out of that one.

OMG! I need to sit down with your DH and discuss. I'm that person. I just bite my lip and don't say it anymore because my friends hate it and it's pointless. The books and the movies are two separate things.

I had a huge arguement with my friend's husband though about Snape being Harry's father and why did he do the Patronus. Needless to say, I won.

I really, really wanted to come say hi but I thought meeting you for the first time in wizarding robes would make the wrong impression. Plus my friend's g/f wouldn't let him go out and DH was too embarassed to walk around with me in wizard robes.
