This past Saturday I broke my finger, my hand is in a cast and I may need surgery. Here's my problem...My photograher called yesterday & my thank you's are in. I cant fill them out since the hand that I write with is in a cast. Would it be bad if I waited until my hand healed? That could be about 8 weeks.

could you have DH write them? you could even tell him what to say! If you wait 8 weeks, that's like past the 6 month mark... Feel better and heal fast!

I could try to have DH write them, but I doubt that will happen. My mom said she would do it for me but I can't ask her to do that. She's doing so much for me now since DH is away until Fri. I feel bad waiting until after the 6 month mark. That may be my only option.

I wouldn't stress over it. I've gone to some weddings and never gotten a thank you. You can't help it if your finger is broken!!

This totally sounds like a job for your DH. At a minimum he should do all thank yous from his side if you can't get him to do all.

I woudl say not to stress about it! You can even add a little note in there apologizing for the delay, but letting people know that you broke your finger and couldn't get them out sooner!

Thanks Girls I'll tell DH at least take care of his side. That would be such a huge help to me. I can worry about my side when I'm able to write again. I can't stress over it. It's out of my control. Thanks for all your advice.

Are you kidding? It's nice that you care about your guests so much...But really!!! You broke your finger and you can't write...Who cares if it takes 8 weeks or 8 months to get them out?!! I've gotten thank you's way past the date of the wedding...You have a valid reason... If you want your Mom or your DH to help, have them address the envelopes or put the stamps on them...that way the pile will be ready for you to write when you are feeling up to it...

ooh- a brokrn finger! ouch! sorry to hear that. How it heals quickly. Ask your husband to write ones to the peeople that would get offended. Anyone who wouldn't notice or knows you broke your finger can wait.

I don't think your should stress over it - I've gotten thank yous later then that, (and sent my own pretty late too - no valid broken finger excuse either ) but, I would try to get DH to do them. What better reason?

Second, I personally think it's tacky for your mother to write them, I would seriously consider having DH do them.
