in the background we always have the tv on at my office....and there is a spanish talk show on...and it caught my attention. a family is there cause a mother needed a kidney transplant...and the best match was her son. to my shock.....the son said 'No--i'm too nervous about what would wind up happen to me.' Knowing that no matter what, his mother will die without the transplant, he still said no. [The husband made a deal with a cousin....and told the cousin he'd pay him for his kidney...did the transplant and now they are on the show cause the wife's sister is angry that he made a deal to pay for the kidney---s t fu -your sister is alive---but i disgress]
If your parent, right now....needed a kidney...would you give it? a sibling? etc.

For my immediate family and my mother's family YES because they would give it to me. For my hubby of course. But for my dad's extended family NO WAY because it wouldn't work both ways. We didnt even get CARDS from most of them for our wedding. I wouldn't hold out for a kidney.

Without a doubt I would be a living donor, whether it be a kidney, part of my liver, bone marrow.
