Would you be annoyed? (long, sorry)
A little background:Dh has a best friend from college (a female best friend). They lived together in college and are very close. She is married (has been for 5 years) and DH is close to the husband as well, but the friend and DH knew each other first. He knows her whole family, she knows his, etc. (example: we flew to Texas in September for her sister's wedding and DH knew all the aunts/uncles/grandparents). She was a BM in our wedding (her hubby was a GM), she is very sweet and helped throw my shower etc. She is pregnant, due in March. They live in Boston.
For the past 3 years we have gone to Boston in February to visit. This year it so happens that her MIL is throwing her a shower the weekend we come, so obviously we are going! Well, her sister is coming in from Texas for it too. GREAT! I can't wait.
Yesterday DH called his friend to confirm the details and she offhandedly mentioned to him that she and her sis were getting massages the Saturday we are there if I want to come. No details, nothing. So he tells me and I was like 'are you sure they don't want sister time etc' and he says no. So I email her asking about it and again checking are you sure you don't want sister time. Her response to me was:
'hi mer,
when do you plan to arrive? adri and i both have appointments for 1:15pm on saturday at g2o spa on newbury.
http://g2ospasalon.com/
we got ruelala coupons too - you should check and see if they are still available!
regarding sister time, no worries - we will all go out for brunch and then do massages and then maybe go our separate ways so adri and i can run errands. you and jonjon should have a nice newbury street/copley day!'
OK. So i try ruelala, no coupons. DH tried calling her to ask about the coupon, no answer. So I call the spa. They are all booked for Saturday. So I guess I'm not going.
So basically, she invited me offhand as an afterthought even though she has known we were coming in for over a month now....and I am totally excluded.
I'm kinda annoyed....but not sure what I'm feeling....
I dunno. Guess I needed to vent!
Should I tell DH how I'm feeling?
This is already super long, so you all get a cookie!

yup. what's your favorite type of cookie?
honestly, i think i'm more annoyed because in general i feel like a bit of an outsider with them. they have all (her, her sis, her DH, my DH and another friend) known each other for much longer than I've known DH and even though I really really try to be involved I just feel like an outsider when I'm with them all.

awww sweetie..im not involved, so maybe this is too much of a third party perspective...but based on what you wrote...i wouldnt worry about itthey still tried to include you. maybe they booked the massages last minute. how would they know they were booked up?

Re: Would you be annoyed? (long, sorry)
I would def not feel annoyed at all. It sounds to me like she was just extending an invitation, not realizing that maybe the spa was already booked. Usually when I book spa appts, I only have myself in mind.. and whoever I've made those plans with.. and then later invite others. It doesn't sound like she was trying to exclude you at all. And + if I were you, I'd be happier hanging with DH in Boston then going to some spa with those girls. lol Go to a better spa and get a couples massage.P.S. My baby doesn't like cookies, can I have some ice cream??
