Hi Ladies, I thought I would post on this side because I value alot of you guys opinions and I know some of you do not get over to BHB that often
Here goes:
I am freaked about my guest list, We are trying to keep it to 125-130 max. We have some people in our lives who are socially unaware. I was thinking of coming up with a response card such as :
We look forward to celebrating with you. Please respond by XXXX
M__________
2 Seat(s) will be reserved. ____ Number of persons attending
____ Will not attend
Is this in any way in appropriate?
Please be honest, I will not get offended.

I in no way would be offended. I think it is absolutely fine! When I was going through the wording for the response cards, there were so many choices of wording to choose from. I wouldnt think twice if I received it.

I don't think it's offensive. It's straight to the point. I would spell out TWO. Do you think there's a chance that anyone would put more than 2 in the line for # attending?

I wouldn't be offended, it makes things perfectly clear for those that are 'unaware'...believe me I know some of those people as well!

Thanks.
I do think that there is a chance that people may try to get over and add more people. I want this to be as problem free as possible.

THe only people who be offended are the ones that bring unwanted guest...the other guests probably wouldnt even notice the difference!
I wouldn't be offended...do you think you would get uninvited guests? I didn't have any...nor did people even think about it...

Yabbo- let's just say we have some friends/family who like to make their own rules. I have seen it done in the past to other people so I want to avoid it being done to me.

I have seen that before, something to the effect of 2 seats have been reserved for you. That is quite fine.

Yes I have seen something like that too. I don't find it offensive. The only ones that will are the guest that will want to bring more people.

I think it's perfectly acceptable. Wish I would have thought of it. I had several people fill in their own number regardless of who was named on the invitation. It's unbelievable. Good Luck planning

I wouldn't be offended, but beware with saying 2 seats a guest might assume that little joey can come since her DH is traveling on business that weekend. Also, will you have the 2 pre-printed? What about when you are sending to a younger cousin without a guest or a family of 4?
I am not a huge fan of the M_______. I think just a line looks nicer JMO.

I will have a line next to seat(s) reserved and fill in the number myself.

Re: Would you be offended if you received this:
I did that on some of my invitations. I made inserts for families, saying that we reserved X seats, etc., etc.
Some people STILL added people in. It's really unbelieveable how CLUELESS people can be. Anyway, I wouldn't be offended and I think you should do anything you can to make the point clear. Just be forewarned. LOL.
