Would you go to a wedding on your first anniversary?

Would you go to a wedding on your first anniversary?

My friend got engaged yesterday and I am so happy for her.

Then she tells me she went looking at places today (they've been talking about getting engaged for a while) and she told me they're looking at our date.

I mean its not like we have anything exquisite planned but I kinda was counting on spending that day with my DH together, alone. Would you go?

BTW, she introduced DH and I.

I'd definitely go and then just celebrate our anniversary on a different day. We actually had 3 couples at our wedding with our anniversary (didnt know it until after we had planned our day!) and it was so nice having them there! I would hve been sad if they didnt come!

I would actually love it! I'm excited that we have a wedding the week before our anniversary.

i think it might be kinda nice being at a wedding on your annviersary! even if its not your own wedding...i think i would def go unless of course we had some sort of plans that was set in stone forever

I would go she sounds like a good friend, and it is kinda special that she introduced you guys. Make plans to do something special just you two the day before or after. I think it would be neat to have a wedding to go to, it will bring back all the memories.

I would def go. . . and you know how hard picking a date can be! You could even make a night out of it and stay at a hotel after the wedding and make breakfast in bed with champagne your alone part! perfect excuse to get all dressed up!

I don't think you should expect that someone else doesn't get married on your anniversary. Its really hard to pick weekends and it happens. Instead I would look at it as a fun thing, you will share an anniversary and could even celebrate it together in the future, maybe a good trip.

As for going, you should absolutely go and just celebrate your anniversary the night before or after. Besides, what better way to remember your wedding day then celebrating the love of another couple.

I would go. You can always spend the days around your anniversary alone. And I think it's kind of special to remember your big day on someone else's. Everyone gets to share in the love! And if she's the person who introduced you two, that's even more special.

Sure...if I were your friend I would have the DJ play your first dance song and ask you and DH to dance alone to it...that would be so cool!!!

I would go! It sounds like a great way to spend your 1 year anniversary! A celebration of love, with close friends that are getting married themselves!! And she introduced you too!! How cool!!

This is a funny topic because we chose the same date as friends who got married the year before. It just turned out that way and our church wasn't available the few weekends before at the time we wanted. They just went out for steak the night before :) I thanked them at our rehearsal dinner, and I figured hey, what better way to celebrate your anniversary than at a free, big, fun party?? haha. go and have fun :)

I would go! What better way to celebrate an anniversary? Seriously. A wedding after you are married is a really nice thing. It makes you think of the day and you will be happy.

I would go, I think it would be nice spend our one year anniversary reliving our wedding experience while watching a friend experience it too, if that makes any sense, lol
Turn your one year anniversary into an 'anniversary weekend' spend one day of the weekend at your friend's wedding and the next day somewhere you want to go to celebrate in your own way??? Enjoy both!!!!

I would go to the wedding and not think twice. I'd rather be there for my friend and celebrate our anniversary the day before or after or even earlier/later in the day. Plus, I think being at a wedding on your anniversary is kind of romantic.

Yes i would totally go. What better way to celebrate a full year of love then at a wedding filled with Love? I guess you could always spend an entire day alone the day before or after or the following weekend.

I know its going to be so hard for us I mean Valentines Day. There is always something going on. lol
