I just heard on the radio that bank robberies are up 57% percent, that is ALOT. Its such a problem that now Bank of America has a new policy that started today I think. You CAN'T walk into their bank with a hat on, sunglasses or a hoodie, how crazy is that. So know this before you go to BOA. Dh wouldnt be able to go in, he wears hats and hoodies alot lol

I've been saying this for so long now. All I keep reading about is bank and gas station robberies. I remember when the gas prices were so high saying you were going to hear more of them. That's all I've been reading in the papers for awhile and it's probably going to get a lot worse. Watch, you're going to start hearing about a lot of muggings again too soon the way things are. Oh, and you know how many home invasions I've read about over the past several months! Even in your own driveway you have to worry...a lot of people having been getting robbed getting in and out of their cars in their own driveways. I really hate to think how bad things are going to get. You're going to have to be really careful.

Yup, i read in newsday that 2008 had the most bank robberies ever recorded since the police started a robbery task force (not sure correct wording for that) back in the 1970's i think is when it was formed.
I do the banking for DH every friday and i only do the drive through's

This is scaring me! In a way I think the idea of drive thru is worse bc they can car jack you![]()

Call me paranoid, but I try to be reaally aware of my surroundings wherever I go. I always keep my car doors locked. If I drive through the ATM, I keep looking up and in the mirrors while I'm waiting. I tend to be a little suspicious in general. I just said it, but it scares me to think how bad things may get.

It scares me too!!!!!!!!!!!!!I've never done drive thru ATM I tried once, but I was new driver and I didnt think my car would fit

So scary..I was getting gas and the man that works there (were boys he's the nicest) told me that the sunoco on the corner was robbed the night before (tues at 3am) at gunpoint! No one got hurt thank god! but OMG....and I then my friend told me another gas station near me was robbed (Like 2 blocks away

It is so scary....I mean I have always felt safe where I live.......not so much lately

I ALWAYS used to go to the drive thru atms, and I did consider that every time - esp at night. It's just a little scary. I remember reading about how if somebody corners you at an atm and tells you to put in your pincode and take out money for them - you just do your PIN backwards. That's supposed to be a way of directly contacting the police without the evil person knowing. Interesting, huh? Obviously I've never had to actually TRY it (thank God).
But yes - we need to always be safe. Especially now with the way things are![]()

YES thats whats even scarier, ive heard home invasions are up by alot now.
