So this situation just gets worse and worse. I just found out my dad is having an affair. (awesome.) My aunt told me and then told me I can't tell my mom. I figured this was happening but now it is confirmed. I wish I didn't know. I hate keeping secrets. C rap. help. lol.

Gotta laugh at all of this...sorry to keep venting and posting all of this i feel bad.

Aww Lauren that stinks. Im sorry you have to deal with all of this. And seriously it is very hard to not only have to keep a secret but to know what your dad is doing & how much it would hurt your mother. Im very sorry. I hope you can maybe figure out a way to tell your mom or have someone else do it so that you dont hav ethis between yout two.

Lauren! Why is your family dumping on you and putting you in the middle of all of this c rap? Ughhh, I feel for you so much!

Please, do yourself a favor ... even though it will be difficult ... do not be the one to share this information with your mother.

In the meantime ... just continue to be there for your mom. Make sure you spend lots of extra time with her if you can.

So terrible of your aunt to tell you. Its not something you really need to know...and it totally puts you in an awkward position.
If it were me, i'd try my hardest to keep it from my mom, cause im sure it would hurt her...I would hope that my father would tell her himself..

I wouldn't tell her either...I just don't see what it would accomplish at this point. They're already splitting up sooo...its not like it would 'get her to leave' or something...

As hard as it is, I'd keep it to myself. Let dad move to FL...and be there for your mom.

yeah it would prob be best if you didnt know!! knowing make things worse, but there is nothing you can do about it now,i know you dont wanna keep anything from you mom but you also shouldnt hurt her, im sure she is going thru alot right now so telling her might not be a good idea....

maybe she knows...already but just never said anything to anyone.

second..i really think it was crappy of ur aunt for telling u a nd then saying dont tell ur mom..thats really hard..if she is not planning on telling ur mom herself than i would call her up and tell her to do so

i dont think i could not tell my mom but thats just me..either way i hope u feel better and always remember it has no reflection on how they feel about you.....

Ugh - seriously WHY would she tell you that and tell you you can't tell your mom?!! Or why would she tell you at all so you had to even think about it!

I agree that it's not really your job to tell her but I would say to think about this. . when/if your mom finds out and finds out that you knew it could be really hard on your relationship? Would she be really upset with you at that point?

Is this your Dad's sister or your mom's? Is it something where you could make them tell your mom or do you not even want to have her know bc it would just hurt more!
