WWYD - Wedding Bands

WWYD - Wedding Bands

DH and I both are having problems with our wedding bands.

Here's a history of our issues:

1. DH's band was made thinner than it should have been, not by much. Fine. We got a $100 credit.

2. On the day of, DH's wedding band broke in the middle of our reception. The roping popped out of it's groove. So, he couldn't wear it on our HM.

3. Had it fixed, but all they did was sodder (sp?) in the roping and it looked like crap. We brought it back and they replaced the roping.

4. Last weekend I notice his band has a chip in it. A little chunk of the ring is missing.

5. Last night I notice one of the pieces around a diamond in mine is missing.

Needless to say I am now very upset and getting angry. I have had my e-ring for 15 months and NEVER a problem. We did go to a different jeweler for both.

We didn't take DH's ring on our HM so we had no pics of our rings (i.e. in our leis, on the pineapples, etc - I know I am a nerd) so that was upsetting. Now this.

What would you do? Would you just 'drop in' and demand your money back? And go where we got my e-ring? Or just have them fix the problems again? And wait to see how long it takes for something else to break?

Thanks in advance. Sorry so long!

See if they'll replace the rings. If they won't, see if they'll return your money.

Wedding rings are really not that expensive, usually, depending on the material. We got DH's on bluenile.com which has really great prices, and tons of choices.

It sounds like maybe it's time to invest in a new set of rings so you'll both be happy. Of all things, your wedding rings should not be a source of contention and frustration in your marriage!

I would bring them to a jeweler that I trust and have them looked at- It is unusual that a ring would just break with in hours of putting it on at the wedding and then again a few months later. I know our wedding bands were expensive and I would be really upset. I would get an expert opinion and then go back to the jeweler that you bought the rings from with the facts- Maybe the metal is not what you thought you were getting.
