that's a tricky one... My SIL's brother was invited to my SISTER's wedding. (My sister's husband's family is from the midwest so they knew most woudlnt' attend her wedding and had leway with their guestlist) He wasn't invited to mine, b/c my DH has a family JUST as big as my family and our guest list was insane to begin with... (I have a huge family)

So it could be a similar situation.

did I make any sense?

i dont really think you are wrong here..

first.. i think its rude that they didnt even respond to your wedding..
second: out of kindness i believe they should of invited you to their wedding.. regardless if they didnt come to yours.. its just out of respect. IMO.

feel better!

Even though you did the 'right' thing you cannot expect it of others. Be happy your not invited! Seriously .. sounds like your not tight w/them and it one less thing you have to worry about responding weather you should or should not attend w/your DH.

I love to attend weddings that people are near and dear to me and I get relieved when I am not asked when it comes to situation like that!

I agree. weddings get CRAZY!!! We know-we're all newlyweds. I would see it as a belssing in disguise and just not aggravate myself. Save the money you would spend on a gift and go out to an expensive dinner and dancing with your DH instead.

It was impolite of them not to respond to your invitation but I would let it go. Its the B&G's wedding, they should decide who is invited.

there were people whose weddings I attended in the past but I did not invite them.

Also - are you 100% sure they got the invitation?

and are you 100% sure you are not invited to theirs? Not everyone does Save The dates. Your invitation might come 4-6 weeks before the wedding. Or you might be on the B list, if room is tight. I would keep my mouth shut on this one if I were you.
