X-POST Virginia Beach hotels

So the girls that came on my Bachelorette Party and I decided that every year we are going to go away somewhere. Next year we decided on Virginia Beach. Can anyone suggest any hotels that they have stayed in? Not far from nightlife, beach, and most importantly FOOD!

TIA!!!

Re: X-POST Virginia Beach hotels

We have a time share in Beach Quarters hotel on 5th st, it is right on the oceanfront. Its not the newest hotel, but is clean & has a balcony right on the boardwalk & is near MahiMah's & Waterman's restaurants & across the st from Sunsations. Turtle Cay is nice also (sister hotel), but not on the boardwalk. Down on 5th st it is quieter , if you want more action look near the Pier (15th st) . The Hilton on 31st is gorgeous and Catch 31 is a great restaurant.

Re: X-POST Virginia Beach hotels

Hi! DH and I have been to VA Beach twice. The first time, when he proposed to me and the second time for our first anniversary.

The first time we stayed at the Oceanfront Inn. If you are looking for a decent hotel with no extra perks, then this is a good suggestion. The rooms have two queen size beds and EVERY room has a private balcony that faces the ocean. DH got down on his knee on the balcony with the ocean waves crashing... so perfect. Anyway, like I said, the rooms are very basic, the indoor pool is just ok and the restaurant inside the hotel is so-so. But for the price we paid for mid summer and to be looking at the ocean from our room, that's all we wanted.

For our anniversary we stayed at the Ocean Sands Resort and Spa. It's a timeshare hotel but you don't need a timeshare to stay. I believe they are affiliated with Ocean Keys and another one so guests from one can use the hotel pool at another. Our room faced the ocean but there was no balcony. Just a very large window. The room had a full kitchen, couch (sofa bed) and the back room was the bedroom. We were a little disappointed when it said 'jetted tub' for the bathroom. We were hoping it would be a spa type of tub. It was like a regular bathtub with the jets on the sides. Oh well. We didn't eat at the hotel restaurant but it was a tex-mex casual type place (I think Bahama Joe's?).

Both of these hotels were on Atlantic Ave. which is the main strip of gift shops, restaurants and things to do. The Ocean Sands hotel was more south closer to the pier and Oceanfront Inn was a bit more north by the Neptune statue.

Another suggestion although we didn't stay, would be the Holiday Inn at Sunspree. They had a gorgeous outdoor pool (not sure if they had an indoor) and DH and I dined at their formal Italian restaurant Isle of Capri. It is located at the 12th floor overlooking the beach and ocean. Proper attire required (men must wear collared shirt). The place is very pricey but the staff is so professional and the food was excellent (I had lobster ravioli).

Also, every night they have Beachstreet USA where there are performers all up and down Atlantic Ave. We caught a band on one of the stages. Fun times!

Anyway, feel free to FM me if you'd like. Good luck!

ETA: We haven't found a seafood buffet that was 'great'. And there's a place called Rockefeller's that's a short drive to the Rudee Inlet. Although they have valet parking, the dresscode is VERY casual.
