i know - i just dont understand....that's why i'm so upset. first off, we've been sticking to the agreement/payment plan that we talked about....and then why would she talk to us two days ago like everything is fine & then just drop a bomb like this????? and it wasn't sent in error because IT'S SIGNED BY HER. whatever. i'm just really upset & having major anxiety...and i'm just annoyed because things we're finally looking up. we've both been working our a**'s off and have been catching up on everything....whyyyyyy ugh.

I'm so sorry you're going through this. That's completely unfair of her. Did you have the agreement in writing? I would suggest talking to her again with DH. If she agrees to work something out, get it in writing.

oh my god.....I'm so sorry. Will definitely keep you in my prayers.

Did you happen to have a signed agreement?

sorry to hear all this
In almost all cases the tenant has more rights then the landlord. Not that you want to fight with her or start trouble but it does take a long time to get a tenant out so even if tthe notice says 3 days, legally it would take at least a couple months. Talk to her & see what she has to say about going back on your agreement, what could her excuse be? that's awful

Wow!!! I am sorry to hear your going through this! My good friend had a similar situation last year when her hubby lost his job. They were able to go on a different payment plan and it worked out.

I hope that you can figure out a way to make this work

I was going to say the same thing.

Taryn...I actually did a lawsuit similar to what you are talking about. If you would like, FM me, and I will help you out.

This is a typical summary eviction proceeding notice. You have a right to be heard in a court of law. They cannot give you three days, trust me. You have about 30. They cannot change the locks or anything like that. I had this issue before me once and my friend and I won a lawsuit against a big company that owned our building in Manhattan.

But cause that is not pleasant!

Re: .

thankyou girls for all the advice and support....i guess my fear is coming home one day & having the locks changed. i dont have anything in writing which *****...i guess because we didn't see it as a change in the lease....more of 'we're behind and this is what we're going to do to catch up' sort of thing...and since she was so nice about it, it didn't seem like a huge deal. but for any court thing we'd have to do - we have no proof of that other than our word. i'm gonna check out the links u posted & see what options there are....thanks for all the love.
