aaawwww sorry you need to put up with crap. Does he come over often? I know a landlord can check the property, but it's usually done before renewing the lease. Tell DH to be a bit more firm with him when he come next time.

As far as the lawn, I wouldn't know if the landlord has to take care of it...I would assume so unless its in your lease. I know that I have to take shovel when it snows

yeah good point, when it snows do you have to shovel? If so then more than likely you have to mow the lawn.

You shouldn't let him push you guys around like that. I would say to him how you feel, and make sure you remind him of all the cleaning up you've done around the house.

It sounds like this guy is miserable, and will always find something wrong just b/c he likes to bust balls.

I'm sorry sweetie! One of the many downfalls of renting privately.

sorry you are dealing with this. I agree with the the above poster to tell dh to be more firm and speak up. Every landlord i've had and my friend's landlord all mowed the lawn. That was never our responsibility. Hopefully he won't be over that much.

uhh thats so annoying! Ive rented several different places and ive never mowed the lawn...your dh def should not have to do that! I doubt that its legal that the landlord is coming over that often also ...i hope that he gets that stick out of his butt asap!
