I have something like Aflac but it's with All State. It does cover you for disability on maternity leave but you must be enrolled for 1 year before you become pregnant. I enrolled in it a long time ago so when the time came I would be ready to go. They also give you money for going to the gyno just for a well check up. If you miss work you can get money...all of the incentives are crazy. I am sure there is a bunch I could use it for but I haven't really read the policy. I have had it for about a year and a half now and they take $25 out of my check a week. Hope this helps.
My company uses it for supplemental insurance. Our primary is Aetna...but they basically pay you when you're out on maternity because my company only pays in full for four weeks--basically what they're FORCED to.
I have AFLAC for disability (had it for years). I believe that they do not consider maternity leave a 'disability' and will only pay you AFTER you've been out for 6 weeks due to a disability after pregnancy.
