I don't know if you saw this on the other post about Vegas...

When are you planning on going in August, cause Chris and I are going then too!

we were hoping for the first weekend in august...

shelzyp will also be there then...

Oh well - not the same time, but it would have been fun to meet up in Vegas (being that we never did in NY! )

We are leaving on the 13th - spending 2 days in Vegas, then renting a car to visit some friends in California. Then driving back to Vegas for 5 days, then driving to the Grand Canyon for 2 days, then flying home from Pheonix...

wow thats a great trip...one warning though...Phoenix is HOT in August...unbearable!! but the Grand Canyon should be really nice...

And yes - I've heard about the heat out there - I'm a little nervous about it, but we're staying in a hotel on the south rim, not in the Canyon itself, so hopefully that should help! I know how hot Vegas is in August (been there before), so I know Phoenix will be the same way! Dry heat my butt - 115 degree heat is hot no matter how dry it is!

I don't know what your route is...but coming from the Grand Canyon...you can go through Sedona...the ride is awesome b/c its so winding...but the town is absolutely gorgeous!!

a little further south is Prescott and Wickenburg (where Dh is from)
